  1. They are valuing the miles at 1.99 cents a piece. The valuation of $2,985 would result in a tax to the average recipient assuming they are in the 28% federal tax bracket and have a state tax rate of 5% of a little under $1000 (ignoring the effect of state tax deduction on federal return. That is like buying the miles at .67 cents each which is pretty good. Count me in!
