Earn and Burn AAdvantage Miles on airberlin

European low cost carrier airberlin is scheduled to join oneworld next year.  In advance of joining the alliance, they and American have been offering codeshare flights which enabled AAdvantage members to earn miles on airberlin operated flights with an AA coded flight number.

Flying to Germany? AAdvantage members may now earn and redeem AAdvantage miles on airberlin throughout the 163 destinations in 39 countries that airberlin serves.

As a oneworld member elect, airberlin offers you convenient access to more flights within Europe and on select transatlantic markets such as between Berlin and New York (JFK), Düsseldorf and Miami and Düsseldorf and Los Angeles.

Starting today, AAdvantage member will also be able to redeem AAdvantage miles for travel on airberlin as well as earning miles on airberlin operated flights even without an AA coded flight number:
