2012 Freddie Awards: Guess how I voted and win a pair of AA Premium Class Slippers

America Airlines Flagship Slippers

We’re down to less than 48 hours left to vote in the 2012 Freddie Awards:

Introduced in 1988 by InsideFlyer magazine’s Randy Petersen, the “Freddies” have grown in stature and importance to become the most prestigious member-generated awards in the travel loyalty industry. The goal of the Freddie Awards is to give voice to the frequent flyer and to honor the efforts of an industry that counts more than 300 million members worldwide.

The polls close at 11:59 PM, March 31, so if you haven’t voted, it’s time to vote for your favorites across these categories:

Best Promotion for Redemption
Best Promotion for Earning
Best Redemption Ability
Best Customer Service
Best Elite Program
Best Loyalty Credit Card
Program of the Year

I don’t want to tell you how I voted for Program of the Year, but here are a few hints:

The last two months of 2011, offered system wide Double Elite Qualifying Miles making it easier for members to maintain or move up in status.

Allows mileage redemption upgrades from even the lowest priced fares.

Offers one-way awards.

Celebrated a 30 year anniversary with 30 days of promotions offering members the chance to earn more than 164,200 miles.

You can redeem miles for hotels and car rentals.

Introduced a new flight redemption option that allows members with elite status to book any time awards at discounted mileage redemption level.

Members of this program redeemed 5,411,769 flights with the sponsoring airline.

Members of this program redeemed 590,195 upgrade awards.

Members used their miles to claim 938,003 partner airline awards.

My vote probably cancelled out Delta Points’ vote

Trying to influence a vote is something I would never do….without offering something in return!
