American’s Pilots Vote to Approve Contract

Jason Whitely at Dallas news station WFAA is reporting that the members of the Allied Pilots Association union have voted to approve the a new contract with American Airlines:

The Allied Pilots Association says 73.78 percent of its members voted in favor of ratifying the contract AMR, American’s parent company, offered the union’s board in November.

He also has this comment from Denise Lynn, a senior vice president of American Airlines:

 “We are pleased our pilots supported and ratified this agreement, which is an important step forward in our restructuring. Once we’ve received Court approval of this agreement, we will have new collective bargaining agreements with all of our unionized groups.
