A 1,000 points is pretty sizable. It’s halfway to a round-trip domestic ticket. It’s an upgrade to first class with enough points left over to get a day pass to the Admirals Club.

I visited the promotion page and took a look at their services and prices and VerticalResponse has some pretty cool tools, and spending $5 is pretty easy.

For $5 you can send out a mailer to about 300 clients. Or for the same price, you can send out 6 post cards. Either way, VerticalResponse had some nicely designed templates and an online assistant to walk you through the process.

Again, it’s a targeted offer. Here’s the fine print:

How’s this for a Double AAdvantage Miles promo code: SUX2X

Posted on: February 2nd, 2012 by: aadvantagegeek

Sioux City Sarsaparilla

I have this thought that somewhere buried deep in the basement at American’s headquarters is a room with a door marker that reads “Promo Code Department”.

And inside that room are a couple of people that had to snicker a little when they came up with a promo code for this offer to promote the start of new service between Chicago and Sioux City, Iowa:

Airline: American Eagle
Award: Bonus Miles

Bonus Code: SUX2X

Dates: Travel between April 3, 2012, and June 30, 2012

Offer: Starting April 3, 2012, American Eagle will offer daily nonstop flights between Chicago O’Hare and Sioux City, IA. To celebrate, you can earn double miles every time you fly our new route through June 30, 2012.

To qualify for the offer, you have to register before you travel.  Go here for full details.

Maybe it just my third grade sense of humor, but when I saw the promo code I thought it was kind of funny.  SUX is the IATA airport code for Sioux City, so SUX2X is a pretty logical for a promo code.  And it’s not like the AA Promo Code Department could use 2XSUX, that’s probably reserved for double mileage offers to Houston.

Earn Double AAdvantage Miles between DFW and Garden City, Kansas

Posted on: January 24th, 2012 by: aadvantagegeek

Gas Station

American Airlines is launching service to Garden City, Kansas in April. And to promote the new route they’re offering Double AAdvantage Miles:

Airline: American Eagle

Award: Bonus Miles

Bonus Code: GCK2X

Dates: Travel between April 3, 2012, and June 30, 2012

Offer: Starting April 3, 2012, American Eagle will offer daily nonstop flights between Dallas/Fort Worth and Garden City, KS. To celebrate, you can earn double miles every time you fly our new route through June 30, 2012.

I’ve actually been to Garden City.  For a small city (less than 30,000 population), they’ve got more than their share of outstanding golf courses.  Many years ago I played Southwind and Buffalo Dunes, and you have no idea how thick prairie grass can grow until you’ve tried to hit a golf ball out of it.  The wind can be tough too, you’re either knocking your drive 25 feet, into the wind, or carrying 450 yards with your 9 iron and the wind behind you.

Anyway, go here to for more details or to register for this offer.

Later today, I’ll be announcing a winner in yesterday’s oneworld MegaDo related giveaway and offering another prize in a random drawing. Come back a little later for a chance to win!
