Centered East is a travel blog dedicated to mostly business (and some leisure) travel within, to, and from Asia. Hosted by BoardingArea, the premiere site featuring business frequent flyer personalities, Centered East takes the BoardingArea spirit and adds an Asia-centric flare.

Rob Pereyda is an entertainment business executive by day, a social media innovator and mega-networking events host by night, and an avid traveler everywhere in between.  He currently lives in Tokyo, Japan and has previously lived in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as Beverly Hills in California. His “traveling career” started when he was just six years old with his first of many cruises in what would become a biannual tradition for his extended family.

Rob speaks English natively, Japanese every day for business, and scrapes by with Mandarin Chinese and Spanish when needed (he took all four languages concurrently in high school). His degree from Santa Clara University is in Chemistry, but thanks to a truly liberal arts education, he dabbled in everything from ethical issues in computing to the mathematics of evolution to digital animation techniques to translating ancient Chinese religious texts.
