Business Travel Down

November 19, 2008 – 1:58 pm

IATA published September data today: “According to the International Air Transport Association, business- and first-class ticket buyers fell 8% in September from a year ago, far deeper than the decline of 1.5% seen during August. The sharpest decline occurred in the Middle East with a 14% slump, while business travel of the North Atlantic slipped 2%.”

Oil maybe $50 but if there are no passengers then it doesn’t matter.  Airlines can always pull more flights matching supply to demand but that’s not really the game you want to be playing as a supplier.
