Club Carlson is giving away 4,500 points for new members who join T.G.I. Friday’s “Give Me More Stripes” promotion by December 18, 2011.  This is an extremely easy way to earn half the number of points needed for a free night at their bottom tier hotel (9,000 points). I actually do not typically stay at Club Carlson hotels (Radisson, Country Inn & Suites, Park Inn by Radisson, and Park Plaza), but am really excited about this as I prepare for next years US Airways Grand Slam promotion. While I have no idea what next year will bring for the promotion, previously you needed to transfer 8,000 Club Carlson points to US Airways to count as a “hit”. The free 4,500 points will help me obtain the most likely 8,000 points needed for the transfer.

To earn your free points:

Step 1) Join T.G.I. Friday’s “Give Me More Stripes promotion: https://www.tgifridays.com/gmms/givememorestripes.aspx

On the confirmation screen, click the “PRINT MY NEW MEMBERSHIP NUMBER” link to find find your TGI Friday’s membership number. You will need this for Step 2.

Step 2) Join Club Carlson: https://clubcarlson.vts0.com/stripes2011/. In the registration form you will need to enter the stripes number you received from Step 1.

This promotion is for new members of the Club Carlson program. Club Carlson, however, is typically pretty good with combining accounts.

Now, the only caveat is that it did not give me my Club Carlson number once I registered, nor have I received it via email. I tried signing in to my new account online, but it has not yet been activated. I will follow up with Club Carlson and my hope is that I will receive an email soon. In the terms and conditions it does state that you will receive your points in 6-8 weeks to receive your points. I am still not 100% sold on this promotion, but I guess it cannot hurt, right?!

    Will it interfere with the 50,000 club carlson promotion? I was emailed a targeted 1,000 CC points promo from Radisson (after my 50k posts were posted and safe in my account) & I just gave it a shot because I really had nothing to lose… I’ll let you know if I get those 1,000 points posted… if not, no biggie :)

    Just checked my Club Carlson Account, and 50,000 points just posted. I selected a Radisson in Colorado Springs for the night of November 10th.

    My 50,000 points also posted. And, I also received the same promotion for 1000 points like Angelina above. Can I go for the 1000 points and also the 4500 points by creating a new account, and then combine both accounts?

    If I don’t stay in a hotel with them in the next two years my points will expire.

    Are there any other ways where I do not need to spend more as $1 to keep the points from expiring?

    If you already have an account, do they open you up a new Club Carlson number since they don’t ask for the Club Carlson number, and only ask for the TGIF number?

    @Chirag – you should be able to. Club Carlson is really good at combining accounts and transferring points.

    This promotion seems to be targeted, I figured that’s the reason why I didn’t receive any CC info when signing-up.

    Also after several days the e-mail address I used is still not recognized.

    @Robin – It looks like the promotion ended :( In the terms it said December 18th, sorry about that. However, if it makes you feel better, I do not have a good feeling that we’ll all be receiving the points like we think anyways.

    @Shaoib – Just call and ask your two accounts to be merged. Explain that for some strange reason you just realized you have two accounts under your name.
