So this is an interesting promotion. Klout (a website that measures your influence on social networks) has partnered with Cathay Pacific Airways and will give free lounge access to anyone in the San Francisco Airport international terminal with a Klout score of 40 or higher. As of right now this promotion will run through the end of July.

To gain access all you have to do is pull up the Klout app on your phone and show your score to the lounge receptionist. While I have not been to this lounge, I’ve read that you’ll get access to showers, computer stations, and a noodle bar – not too bad!

While I am a huge fan of the social media promotion (i.e., Twitter/Facebook and Amex syncing promos), there have been limited Klout promotions out there. In December 2011 there was one with CapitalOne, but that is all I am aware of until now. It is interesting to see the social media companies jumping into the travel world to offer many promotions and deals.

To figure out your Klout score, go to www.klout.com. You will need to log in with your Facebook or Twitter account. While this is not a 100% accurate score, it takes into consideration how active and influential you are with your social media accounts. I just checked and have a Klout score of 50. The scale is between 1-100, which 100 being the the highest. I actually just played around with Klout (I am not an active Klout user by any means) and was able to see the topics I am most influential about. It is no shocker that “Coupons” is at the top of that list with “American Airlines” coming in second.

Thanks Mr. Deals for sending this my way!
