Want to get some free gift cards?! Many merchants are currently giving away free bonus gift cards with the purchase of a certain gift card amount. Many of them are “Buy a gift card for X amount, get a free X bonus card.” There is no limit to the number of bonus gift cards you can get for each merchant, just make sure to purchase in increments of the required amount. If you shop at participating stores often, this is a way to get a discount on a future purchase. Many of these dates coincide with Mother’s Day, so you can also shower your Mom with a gift card from her favorite store and get something free for yourself!

Below are the current promotions I found. If you are aware of any others, feel free to comment and I will include them in this post.

  • Applebee’s: Buy a $50 gift card through April 24th (in store) and get a free $10 bonus card to use between April 30th and July 8th. Applebee’s promotion details

Also, while I have not tried it, I have a feeling for the online purchases you are able to use an Amex/Visa gift card found at Home Depot. If anyone tries this, please comment and let me know!

    Don’t forget the Chipotle deal – buy a $30 gift card and receive a free entree on your next visit (they typically allows you to get double meat and guac, which can cost upwards of $14)!

    Can you buy a Home Depot gift card online through the Membership Rewards portal and then use the HD GC to buy the amex/visa giftcards in store?

    @Benji – Typically stores do not allow you to purchase a gift card with a gift card although I haven’t personally tried it at Home Depot.
