Last week I posted on an opportunity to receive a Virgin America 20% off discount code. This promotion required you to book your flight by July 31st, which is coming up soon! However, it looks like there is another site available offering the same 20% off discount code, but the reserve by date is not until August 15th, which gives you another 2 weeks to figure out your travel plans and if this coupon gives you the best savings.

The travel between dates are also slightly better, where you can travel between August 22nd and November 14th (blackout dates: August 31st and September 3rd).

Steps to get your 20% off code:

  1. Go to this Virgin America site, fill out the form, and click “Get Your Code” – make sure to do this by 8/15!
  2. You will receive your unique 20% off coupon code in your email
  3. Reserve your Virgin America trip as normal on this reservations site (must reserve by 8/15)
  4. Enter your promotion code at the bottom of the reservations page (the code is only valid for flights 8/22-11/14)

I personally have had success using this discount for a friend, which was great. Just make sure to compare the discounted flights against other airlines prices. For me personally, if an American flight is only a few dollars more, I’d spend the money and take AA to help maintain my platinum status and get the bonus miles.

Anyone able to take advantage of this?

  • Jer said,

I got the code, but haven’t booked a ticket yet. It will be interesting to see if I can use both codes…

  • Andrew L said,

I booked JFK-LAX-JFK for myself, my wife and our son for $244 ea. in October.

Today I realized that I could have booked UA or DL for $298 and received free luggage (2 e/w needed) and actual useful miles. The upfront cost would have been $894 instead of $732 but it may have been worth the extra cash to get miles and save $100 later.

In the end, I decided to fly VX for the simple reason that we have never flown with them before and I would like to see the product.
