Today Only – 75,000 Bonus Points with the Amex Business Gold Rewards Card

UPDATE: This promotion has expired.
A few weeks ago I announced that American Express has upped their bonus points for new applicants of the Business Gold Rewards Card to 50,000 points. I also expected that they would not offer another only day only 75,000 bonus point opportunity during that time due to this increased offer. Well, I guess I was wrong because today only (September 12, 2012), you can apply for the The Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN with a 75,000 sign up bonus. The only caveat is that the minimum spend to earn this bonus is much higher than the already existing 50,000 point promo. The 75,000 sign up bonus requires $10,000 spend in 4 months (average of $2,500/month), while the 50,000 sign up bonus only requires $5,000 in 3 months $1,667/month).
The main perks of this card is that you receive 3x points on all airfare purchases, 2 points on purchases in the U.S. for advertising in select media, gasoline at U.S. stand-alone gas stations, and shipping – these bonuses can be huge. All other purchases will earn the regular 1 point per dollar spent. It does, however, come which a relatively steep annual fee of $175/year, but the first year is waived. You can look at this prior post to learn more about this card specifically.
If you are able to put the additional $5,000 spend on your card then I’d recommend the 75,000 offer, if not the 50,000 point offer is available till November 26 is still a great offer especially when there are transfer bonuses (i.e., British Airways, Delta – hopefully again!).
Disclosure: This link contains affiliate links for the 50,000 point offer, not the 75,000 point offer.

I just got an American Express Buisness Platinum App in the mail offering 100,000 miles after $10,000 spent by end of January(about 4 months).Priorty Pass Select for lounges and clubs included. Kicker is $450 annual fee. Worth it?

@travelD – I personally think it is worth it for the one year, but to then cancel. With the $450 fee you will also get $200 per year to put towards airline incidentals (which many have had luck with airline gift cards). This is $200 per calendar year, so you can theoretically get $400 towards this within the 12 month period. Additionally, you get global entry reimbursement (if that is valuable to you), which lasts for 5 years. You also get free lounge access. Additionally, 100,000 bonus points is huge! I am personally hoping I get one of those targeted offers in the mail. But it all depends on the person.
