Both Southwest and JetBlue are having sales with flights starting at $69 and $49 respectively. I checked around some flights on Southwest specifically and saw direct flights from the Northeast to Ft. Lauderdale for the $69 rate. While most of these good deal flights are for Tuesdays and Wednesdays it is still worth a shot. I was actually able to get some Southwest points back for speculative reservations I made as the fare had decreased.

It is worth taking a look to see if any flights you’ve been watching have gone down in price, or any already existing reservations have decreased. With both airlines you can get a credit back for the difference.

Anyone able to grab any good deals?

I didn’t need this deal, but with Southwest it is always worthwhile to check rates daily.Just saved $66 per ticket on a January 23 flight. Persistence pays!

Thanks for this posting. Bought a ticket for travel on a Saturday for $99 yesterday. Checked on it today and it was down to $69 so did a quick exchange.

That’s why this site is one of my favorites!

@Becky – Awesome! Glad you were able to get the ~30 back into your account as a credit!
