This is new on the KLM website. I don’t fly much (ok ever) to the Philippines so this may be old news to those who do but just so you know:

“Please be informed that, with immediate effect, visitors traveling to The Philippines must hold a printed copy of the return/onward E-ticket.

The Department of Justice, Bureau of Immigration, and Republic of The Philippines has strictly reinforced the requirement for those visitors/tourists to hold a printed copy of the return/onward E-ticket to prevent from being refused to enter the country. Ticket image presented in an electronic device, e.g. laptop or smart phone will not be accepted.

For me, this is one more reason to e-Mail a PDF of your boarding pass to say a GMAIL account. Then, if you need it, you can go to a Skyclub or anywhere with a computer and printer, access your file and print it. It is always good to have a backup.

  1. David says:

I also saw this warning on Cathay Pacific so this is new advisory.

  2. Any international travel I carry hard copies of all my reservations, in many countries you have to run a security gauntlet trying to enter the terminal, sometimes they are nonchalant, sometimes (like India) they are nutso.

Another reason the PI is a joke, the Mexico of Asia, but like India and some other undeveloped nations, you also need a printed copy to enter Aquino airport on your return. Although in their defense, UK immigration asked for my return ticket a couple of years back and it was on my phone, which apparently was not good enough for them either, but they still let me pass.

Bottom line like Rapid Travel Chai recommends, always have printed electronic ticket receipt.
