David Grossman writes about business travel and commercial aviation.  Grossman’s Business Traveler column on USA Today.com has also been reprinted on ABC News.com and he is a regular contributor to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Airlines International magazine.  Grossman has also written for the Boston Herald, the ACTE Global Business Journal, ASTANetwork Magazine, the NBTA Newsletter, and the print edition of USA Today.

Grossman has been a guest on “The Travel Planners”, “Tilley Talks Travel”, “The Travel Show with Arthur and Pauline Frommer”, “The Trip Chicks” and WILL’s “Focus 580″ radio programs and has appeared on “Your Morning”, a cable television news show broadcast to homes from Maine to Virginia.

In addition to his role as a journalist, Grossman often is a guest speaker at regional and local business travel association meetings across the U.S.A., offering his insight into the outlook for business travel and current issues in commercial aviation.

Prior to his current career as a journalist, Grossman worked in the airline industry for 11 years building and managing the products used by millions of travelers to book flights, rental cars, and hotel rooms on the Internet.   In this capacity, Grossman served as the director of electronic commerce for US Airways, where he managed Internet ticket sales and the airline’s web site.   Grossman also worked for Galileo International, a global computerized reservations system used by thousands of travel agencies to book travel for their customers.   At Galileo International, Grossman helped develop travel booking products for United Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways, and other airlines.

Before entering the travel industry, Grossman worked in electronic publishing for mapmaker, Rand McNally, and the publisher of Who’s Who in America.   Grossman converted printed publications into electronic databases for online access for both publishers.   Grossman also led a project at Rand McNally to create a database containing the track mileages and routes for all passenger and freight railroads in the U.S. and Canada.

Grossman holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Northwestern University, and a Masters in Library/Information Science and a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from the University of Michigan.  Originally from New York City, Grossman has lived in Chicago, Michigan, and Washington, D.C. and has visited all 50 states and more than 40 countries.  Grossman currently resides in the San Francisco Bay area.
