Alitalia is a disgrace. It is true that US based companies usually have subpar services compared to European ones in geenral (sorry for the generalization) but alitalia excels in being adamant on ignoring any feeling of customer relations. its reputation is so bad that even a new alitalia (which actually seems the same as the rude staff is the same) hasnt changed..

check the horror story I read in this blog www.alitalia.blog.co.uk ... go down to the article with pic names "worst airline".. If this happened to me then Id probably strangle someone but it borders on comic/absurd... how can ANY company be allowed to do this and most of all how do these people live destroying their country's good name like that! disgrace

Jeffrey,

I certainly don't disagree with your opinion.

There are a few US carriers that have a complete lack of customer service. Many US carriers and some Euro carriers could certainly look to a variety of Asian and and Pacific carriers for training on customer service and the customer experience.

Happy Flying!

I have certainly had my problems with Alitalia. However, while a poor customer experience on Alitalia has kept it among the worst airlines in Europe, it is still better than almost every American-based airline. Alitalia makes a failed effort, while most American-based airlines seem to make no effort, having completely given up caring about customers years ago.
