Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

28/02/2009 – Checking Your Itinerary & Double Checking Your Boarding Passes
Today while checking in for my evening flight from Paris (CDG) to Amsterdam (AMS) I was reminded of how important it is to not only check and confirm your reservation at the time you make it, but double check your boarding [...]

28/02/2009 – Dealing With Jet Lag…Simplified
This morning while standing in the Arrivals-Immigrations line at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG) I started chatting with a couple from Connecticut about jet lag. 27/02/2009 – Space Saving Packing Tip : Choosing Your Travel Laptop
Lets face it, we all like a larger screen to view our photos, movies, and graphics or to multiple spread sheets.  Between my two laptops I find my 15″ Apple PowerBook is great for editing due to the space available to [...]

26/02/2009 – iPhone ‘App’ Of The Week : Gate Maps
Finding your gate in an unfamiliar airport can be stressful, especially during tight connections.   Once you land you want to know exactly where you are headed rather than stopping to find a concourse map or ask a customer service agent.    When changing [...]

26/02/2009 – Space Saving Packing Tip : Shorten Your Lens Hood
Since the late 1990s it has seemed that the size of ‘longer lens’ lens hood have been growing in length.   I have always ignored the longer lens hood to save space, often opting for the ‘older’ metal screw in lens hoods [...]

25/02/2009 – Space Saving Packing Tip : International Plug Adapters
When traveling internationally it is often essential to pack an international plug adapter. Sometimes you need to pack more than one adapter depending on where you are headed, but whenever you need an adapter it means one more ‘thing’ you need to [...]

24/02/2009 – Space Saving Packing Tip : Choosing A Battery Charger
All “AA” battery chargers are created equal, right?  Well no, not really. Some chargers are slow, some are fast, most charging units are about the same size…however some are considerably easier to pack due to the size of their power supply.
I [...]

23/02/2009 – Space Saving Packing Tip : Extra Electrical Outlets On The Road
A simple fact that all traveling photographers face (and most business travellers as well) is the need to access multiple electrical outlets.
Life was simpler when I first started to travel with my camera equipment and I didn’t need to [...]
