Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is a self employed photographer, and founder of The Travel Strategist, who has flown approximately 1,000,000 miles since he began to track his mileage 2005.

Fish's travels have included fun trip such as flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; flying from Connecticut to Tokyo for less than two days; multiple trips to Hong Kong for the day......and managed to fly around the world one-and-a-half times in 4.5 days while photographing a project for an international airline.

Fish spends his non-flying time shooting photos, hanging out with his kids, helping others plan their travels and planning his next flight itinerary.

05/03/2009 – iPhone ‘App’ Of The Week : Your Rights

Any photographer working in the United States or traveling to the United States should keep this week’s iPhone App Of The Week handy in their iPhone, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) ‘Your Rights’ App.

Photographers, working at home, or on the road, are often the subject of questioning by law enforcement.   I know law enforcement officers have a difficult job, and they deserve a lot of respect for their job, however as a professional photographer I also have a job to do.   I do my job legally and responsibly, and sometimes I have come under the questioning of law enforcement officers while doing my job.

The ‘Your Rights’ App puts your basic rights at ease reference for many common topics facing photographers.   These rights include Questioning; Stops & Arrests; Searches & Warrants ; Information for Non-Citizens and Rights at Airports & Other Ports of Entry.

Within each of the above topics are detailed sub-sections that let you know your rights.   Law enforcement in the U.S., is sworn to uphold the Constitution of The United States of America.   Along with the constitution we have the Bill of Rights, and everyone, including law enforcement, must adhere to these Bill of Rights.

If you’ve ever been stopped while shooting photos, detained while shooting photos or know anyone who has been stopped or detained while shooting photos then you know how important it is to know your rights.

Do not delay; download the ACLU’s ‘Your Rights’ App immediately.

Below are seven screen shots of ‘Your Rights’ on my iPhone.

Happy Flying!
