Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

05/03/2009 – iPhone ‘App’ Of The Week : Your Rights

Any photographer working in the United States or traveling to the United States should keep this week’s iPhone App Of The Week handy in their iPhone, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) ‘Your Rights’ App.

Photographers, working at home, or on the road, are often the subject of questioning by law enforcement.   I know law enforcement officers have a difficult job, and they deserve a lot of respect for their job, however as a professional photographer I also have a job to do.   I do my job legally and responsibly, and sometimes I have come under the questioning of law enforcement officers while doing my job.

The ‘Your Rights’ App puts your basic rights at ease reference for many common topics facing photographers.   These rights include Questioning; Stops & Arrests; Searches & Warrants ; Information for Non-Citizens and Rights at Airports & Other Ports of Entry.

Within each of the above topics are detailed sub-sections that let you know your rights.   Law enforcement in the U.S., is sworn to uphold the Constitution of The United States of America.   Along with the constitution we have the Bill of Rights, and everyone, including law enforcement, must adhere to these Bill of Rights.

If you’ve ever been stopped while shooting photos, detained while shooting photos or know anyone who has been stopped or detained while shooting photos then you know how important it is to know your rights.

Do not delay; download the ACLU’s ‘Your Rights’ App immediately.

Below are seven screen shots of ‘Your Rights’ on my iPhone.

Happy Flying!
