Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

19/11/2009 – iPhone App Of The Week : Jetset

Among travellers, frequent travellers, leisure travellers and any other traveller you can imagine, there is one unifying bond…this bond is a significant dislike of airport security.  I know how airport security works, I even think there are some excellent airport security screeners out there…however I’m still irritated by dealing with airport security.

This week’s iPhone App of the Week allows travellers to put themselves behind the lines and try to beat airport security as a security screener. This week’s iPhone App of the Week is Persuasive GamesJetset.

Jetset a fantastically frustrating, and mildly addicting, iPhone game. I have been playing Jetset for the past few months and it a great way to vent my frustrations at coping with airport security.

The goal of the game is simple, clear airport security lines while detecting and removing all prohibited items.  Items are suddenly prohibited then suddenly allowed…what items might be suddenly prohibited? Shirts, pants, cameras, hats, bacon…yea because most people fly with bacon…but bacon can be banned in Jetset.

A fun side feature is that Jetset offers settings from 100 airports around the world and collect souvenirs from these airports. You can also redeem souvenirs for trophies.   I don’t play different airports or seek trophies, I am not a gamer, but I still find Jetset quite fun!

While I primarily focus on travel related iPhone Apps, sometimes kicking back with a fun airline related game is a great way to pass the time while sitting at Gate B11 waiting for a flights that is running two hours behind schedule.

Below are 10 screen shots from my iPhone of this week’s iPhone App of the Week, Jetset.

Happy Flying!
