Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

Boeing X-51 Pushes The Bounds Of Hypersonic Flight

Hypersonic flight seems almost like science fiction and its development and introduction into commercial flight seems as if it could be in the far distant future … but it may be attainable sooner than most might imagine following the successful first test flight of the Boeing X-51 WaveRider reaching Mach 6 this past Wednesday. Before [...]

iPad App of the Week : Kayak Flights

Since I first began using the iPad two weeks ago I found a void in truly effective Apps for taking full advantage of the iPad’s potential for booking flights and making travel arrangements on the run. Repurposed iPhone Apps work this same way they would on an iPhone, which is limiting and misses the potential [...]

iPhone App of the Week : Atomic Web

As fantastic as the iPhone is, many users find the Safari web browser slow and lacking many of the features they enjoy on their desktop web browsers.  As an Apple user who not only dislikes Safari on their iPhone and iPad, as well as on their Mac computers, this week’s iPhone App of the week [...]

Discovering Why Americans Are The Most Annoying Travellers

Back in November 2008 a survey by TripAdvisor.com revealed that Americans are regarded as the most annoying travelers in the world. As an American who travels I often, and who frequently deals with American travellers, I find myself observing some Americans on the road and feeling just a wee bit embarrassed that I share a [...]

Iraqi Airways Liquidated & Awaiting Rebirth

On the 25th of April Iraqi Airways flew from Baghdad to London, marking its first flight to the United Kingdom in 20 years. Rather than this long anticipated flight being a joyous moment for the people of Iraq … the flight was not met with fanfare, but by attorneys for the Kuwaiti Government seeking to [...]

Reader Mail : “What Is The Selectee List?”

The “No Fly List” is complex, convoluted and not exactly what everyone thinks it is … and this week’s Reader Mail would like some clarification. This week’s Reader Mail comes from Michelle, of Los Angeles, CA, who asks, “What exactly is the Selectee List that I keeps appearing in news reports? Is this like the [...]

Weekend Musical Interlude : Rush’s YYZ

I know you may be thinking “How can one of the top selling rock bands of all time (having sold more consecutive Gold & Platinum albums than all but three bands in history) name a song after an airport code?” … OK, you’re probably not thinking that at all … but just in case you [...]

Visit Sunny Baghdad : Detroit Service Announced

The winters in Detroit are long, cold and brutal … whereas the average temperatures in Baghdad in March is a pleasant 62f/16c … so scheduled service from Detroit to Baghdad should be popular … OK, not really, but scheduled services from a U.S. carrier, namely Delta Air Lines, to Detroit to Baghdad actually makes sense. [...]

iPad App of The Week : System Manager

This week kicks off my first foray into reviewing an iPad App of the Week.  I have been writing about iPhone Apps of the Week for quite some time, but with the addition of an iPad to my kit an iPad App of the Week seemed to make sense.   I am not sure if the [...]
