Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

A Life At The Airport A Heathrow Photographer

Do you like photography? Do you like celebrities? Do you like airports? Do you like photography of celebrities in airports?  If you answered “Yes” to any of the above questions, then you’ll love the new retrospective book released by London Heathrow Airport’s longest serving “Resident Photographer” Dennis Stone. Yesterday a present arrived in my mailbox [...]

iPhone App of the Week : Travisa Visa

Visas for international travel can be complicated. Some countries do not require a visa, some require visas for specific types of travel, some require everyone to have a visa … and all this information changes based upon a traveler’s nationality. I know seasoned travelers, top tier airline elite frequent flyers, who have arrived at the [...]

iPad App of the Week : Lonely Planet Discover eBooks

It is no secret that I love pretty much everything Lonely Planet publishes. I have written about Lonely Planet’s Encounter Guides on both Flying With Fish and KLM’s Blog, written about their iPhone language translation iPhone Apps and iPhone City Guide Apps … so when Lonely Planet asked me if I was interested in checking [...]

Guest Post: British Airways Mobile Apps

They say in business you should associate with the smartest people you can find … and today’s guest post comes from a person who I met through business, have become friends with, ferried bagels to in London … and who happens to be one of the smartest people I know operating within airline emerging media. [...]

Guest Post: AvGeeks Unite!

Todays Guest Post goes excellently with last week’s guest post from Leighton Matthews Guest Post – Plane Pics – A Spotter’s Story. Many who work in the airline industry are enthusiasts, or Aviation Geeks, also known as AvGeeks … and this is brought to light by Amelia Kelly, a flight attendant from Down Under (or [...]

Guest Post : The Jetiquette Message; Keep it Flying

Today’s guest post comes from the author of one of my favourite airline travel blogs … not that I want to play favourites. Gailen David, creator of Jetiquette and author of Dear Sky Steward has a knack of travel and airline etiquette.  If there is an Emily Post for the travel industry, it most certainly [...]

Guest Post: Culturally Serviced

Today’s guest post comes from Brad Sapit, a flight attendant with a major airline, living in Texas, based in Los Angeles and usually finding himself overnighting in New York. Travel is not only about seeing new places and doing business in foreign lands, but its also about experiencing different cultures and bringing the world together [...]

Guest Post: Plane Pics – A Spotter’s Story

Today’s guest blog post comes from Leighton Matthews … Leighton was a natural choice to ask to be a guest blogger, as Leighton is a professional photographer, airplane junkie and a huge Rush fan (pretty much sounds like I just described myself). You can follow Leighton on Twitter at @PacificAirPhoto and check out his photos [...]

Guest Post : Steven “Slip and Slide” Slater’s Great Escape!

Today’s guest post is from Phil Derner, Jr, the founder of NYC Aviation, a serious airplane spotting enthusiast group in New York and fantastic online community to discuss airlines and airplanes.   Phil, and his partner in crime Matt Molnar can be found on Twitter at @NYCAviation The big news in the airline world this week [...]

Aeroflot Introduces Mobile Phone Check-In, Sort Of…

Russian flag carrier Aeroflot struggles at times to keep up with the times. Aeroflot has made considerable strides in some areas, such as introducing a modern Airbus fleet with an average age of less than three years old and an order for 22 Boeing 787-800 aircraft scheduled to enter service in 2016. As Aeroflot is [...]
