Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national flag carrier, has facing some significant hurdles recently. Happy Birthday To Things In The Sky’s Dan Webb

I’m not much on publicly using Flying With Fish to wish people Happy Birthday, with the exception of my Father who shares his birthday (date, year and city) with the first every airline lounge, which I couldn’t resist wishing a collective 70th birthday.   … but today I’m going to wish fellow BoardingArea blogger Dan [...]

Aztec Barcodes and Aviation Security

A week ago I wrote TSA’s 25,000 Security Lapses & How They Can Be Reduced and referenced the use of Aztec barcodes as a security feature stating “TSA has not worked with airlines to implement these impossible to forge barcodes.”   I received a few comments and emails stating Aztec barcodes could be forged.  Some [...]

Earlier this week documents from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealing more than 25,000 known security breaches since the agency took over airport security screening on the 13th of February 2002 became public knowledge during U.S. House Subcommittee on National Security hearings on TSA Oversight.   First off,  keep this in mind … 25,000+ known [...]

Fish Discusses Terrorism On Voice of Russia – Russian International Radio

This month the topics of aviation security concerns are once again coming to the forefront of the news. Having recently written about the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) warning of surgically implanted bombs 18 months after the threat was discovered, and Libya possessing an estimated 250 tons of non-detectable Semtex, I had the opportunity to discuss [...]

Gadhafi’s Threats & Libya’s Undetectable Threat To Flights

As NATO continues its military actions against Muammar Gadhafi’s Libyan regime, Gadhafi has threatened to carry out attacks in Europe against “homes, offices, families,” unless NATO ceases its airstrikes.   Gadhafi’s unstable government has previously carried out acts of terrorism on commercial airliners, most notably Pan Am Flight 103, on the 21st of December 1988, [...]
