Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

We’re Back & A New Blog Is Born

Over the past few months there have been many topics I sought to write about on Flying With Fish regarding airline, aerospace and travel social media, however these topics never really fit the content people have come to expect on Flying With Fish.   A few weeks ago while working on an airline social media [...]

Scottevest Travel Vest : There’s A Pocket For That

Baggage is an annoyance on the road; even carry on baggage, especially short trips.  Travel with bags slows travelers up at security check points, leaves traveler property at risk for theft or loss at security check points … and for day trips requires travelers to schlep their bags wherever they go. Yes, I admit, there [...]

iPhone App of the Week : FlyTime

This week’s iPhone App of the Week keeps with my preference for simple and functional apps. This week’s iPhone App of the Week is Flytime. Flytime is for those who aren’t organized about checking in for their flights. The Flytime App makes checking in for your flights simple and pain free. Flytime has one function, [...]

2010 : A Brief Year In Review

The last day of the year is a good time to stop, take a moment, and think back over the past year. It’s also probably not the best day to write about the year in review because you’re likely to forget a lot of things … but I’ll give it a shot anyway. 2010 was [...]

iPad App of the Week – Targus Stylus (its not an app)

Since I first received my iPad I’ve thought it was a near perfect device for so many things … I didn’t know what I was missing until earlier this week when I received a new accessory, an accessory I didn’t know I even needed.  This accessory has made using the iPad even easier … something [...]

iPhone App Of The Week : GorillaCam

While most people love iPhone Photo Apps, most just disappoint me … with a few exceptions … so I tend to just use the iPhone camera as is then edit the photos later in the Filterstorm App (which I really need to write about since its been overhauled & released for the iPhone). This week’s [...]

iPhone App of the Week : FlyersRights

After being noticeably absent for the past few weeks from Flying WIth Fish as I focused primarily on aviation security stories I am happy to bring back the iPhone App of the Week series. This week’s iPhone App of the Week is timed to correspond with the peak holiday travel season … which also happens [...]

A Response To The Anonymous Attacks…Truth & Fiction

Typically I do not respond to trolls. Engaging a troll can generally bring about no good, but an unconventional troll hiding behind anonymity has been following my every move and must be addressed.   I have addressed this on Twitter, via email and in conversation … but at this point I should just put it here, [...]

Versihold : An iPhone Travel Essential

How to hold your iPhone while watching a movie on a flight … it’s a problem that has plagued users since all the way back to June 29 2007 (OK, its not that long ago) … but now there is a solution that is better than most others. The Versihold Personal Media Stand is an [...]
