Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

What A Week It Has Been Inside American Airlines

For the past four days I have been living inside the American Airlines network, flying from Hartford to Dallas, to Los Angeles, to New York’s JFK to Chicago, now headed home … a day early … with one goal, to find out how the airline operates from the inside out, focusing on the company’s sustainability. The Kindle Touch 3G … holy cow this is great for travel!

I used to read books frequently, but somewhere along the way my reading of books turned to reading more and more magazines. I attribute some of this change to packing for work, where space is at a premium.  A magazine is slim, you read and toss it (well, except National Geographic) and keep moving, where [...]

Airline frequent flyers expect a number of perks for their loyalty from the airlines they fly on, one of these perks at many airports is an ‘elite line’ at security check points allowing frequent flyers and first class passengers to skip the long queues of waiting passengers … but a new bill introduced on the [...]

Are The MacBook Air & iPad The Perfect In-flight Office?

Not all airline seats are the same, from spacious international first class suites to cramped commuter planes seats; passengers have different experiences depending on the seat they are in.   For many business travelers, the seat they are in is frequently a cramped regional jet … or in some cases a turbo prop (which are the [...]

Ever wake up late to catch your flight on a Monday morning, quickly throwing your bag together, praying you catch your flight … yea, me neither … but if this sounds like a scenario you may encounter, chances are you’ve arrived at your destination at some point missing an essential travel item …   … [...]

Has Bellroy Designed A Perfect Travel Wallet?

When traveling keeping everything neat, organized and in one place is a challenge. Boarding passes are longer than most wallets, passport wallets tend to be impractical and uncomfortable in pant pockets, and credit card slots overlap each other adding bulk, SIM cards easily get misplaced … and pens get lost more often that we’d like [...]

You Can Help Airlines Return Your Lost Bags To You

Lost baggage is not fun for anyone. For travelers, lost baggage means no clothes, no toiletries, possibly lost business materials or gifts. For airlines, lost baggage means their staff is subjected to irate travelers, a decrease is customer satisfaction and the added expense of tracking down lost bags, shipping and delivering lost bags, not to [...]

Staying Comfortable On Long Flights

Long flights, love them or hate then one thing is undeniable, they are uncomfortable, especially in economy class.   Seats are cramped, knees are banged and seat mates are annoying … OK, there is no known cure for an annoying seatmate aside from good noise canceling headsets and pretending to not understand the language you [...]
