Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

Timbuk2′s Subtle Camera Bag : The Snoop

I hate camera bags … no, that isn’t true. With the Scottevest original vest, Fleece 5.0 jacket/vest, hoodie sweatshirt, sport coat, cargo pants and button down shirt in my wardrobe … some [...]

Moose Peterson’s Air-to-Air Photo Workshops … Learn From a Legend

Moose Peterson is a world renowned wildlife photographer, landscape photographer, camera bag designer and he literally wrote the book on Nikon.  While my interests were never in wildlife photography, I was hooked at Moose’s work at the age of 16 when I received my copy of the Nikon System Handbook (now in it its sixth [...]

iPad App of the Week : TiltShift Generator

My photo editing on my iPad is usually similar to my editing on my computer … quick and dirty … crop, colour correct, size, save. For my primary editing with the iPad I use Filterstorm, which I have written about HERE (and I need to rewrite since the App has been improved significantly), but sometimes [...]

Do you like photography? Do you like celebrities? Do you like airports? Do you like photography of celebrities in airports?  If you answered “Yes” to any of the above questions, then you’ll love the new retrospective book released by London Heathrow Airport’s longest serving “Resident Photographer” Dennis Stone. Yesterday a present arrived in my mailbox [...]

Travel Essentials – iDC UBoat Commander (for DSLR Video Photogs)

While I am just starting to embrace shooting video as a photographer, something that translated very clearly from still shooting to video shooting was the need for functional tools. While researching the equipment I needed to transition into shooting DSLR-Video I looked at more than a dozen shooting rigs that provided a multi-functional stable platform. [...]

Web: www.stevenfrischling.com — E-Mail: fish@flyingwithfish.com 25/08/2009 – The New Mountainsmith Endeavor : What If Fish Helped Design A Compact Shoulder Bag? Admittedly I am generally not a ‘shoulder bag’ photographer. I used to love shoulder bags, in fact I’ve previously been featured on the rear cover & inside of the Domke catalogs, but I primarily [...]
