Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

Traveling and camera go hand in hand. Whether you’ve just hopped in the car for the day or boarded a long haul flight crossing continents and oceans … a camera in every travelers bag is a must. iPad App of the Week : TiltShift Generator

My photo editing on my iPad is usually similar to my editing on my computer … quick and dirty … crop, colour correct, size, save. In the process of checking out all sorts of gizmos, gadgets and lenses I found an unlikely [...]

iPhone App of the Week : Nikon Learn & Explore

Traveling is the perfect environment for the burgeoning photographer. Breaking free from what is known and commonplace stokes a traveler’s sense of adventure and a desire to capture and record those moments is only natural. While I may find using my camera equipment second nature having spent my teenage years learning to be a photographer [...]

Orbis Ring Flash – The Travelling Photographers Ring Light Solution

Ring lights are both fun and functional tool for photographers. Ring lights are great for macro work, creating even light when shooting still life images as well as producing flattering light (or really funky light) when shooting portraits. While many think of ring lights as a tool for nature and fashion photographers, I know countless [...]

Travel Essentials – Swiss+Tech Utili-Key

There are times on the road when every traveller finds themselves needing a screw driver, bottle opener, knife, eye glass screw driver. There are always “I wish I had” moments when opening something, repairing something or any number of other daily situations that require ‘basic tools.’ Given the strict limitations of what travelers can carry [...]

Travel Essentials – iDC UBoat Commander (for DSLR Video Photogs)

While I am just starting to embrace shooting video as a photographer, something that translated very clearly from still shooting to video shooting was the need for functional tools. While researching the equipment I needed to transition into shooting DSLR-Video I looked at more than a dozen shooting rigs that provided a multi-functional stable platform. [...]
