Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

Dear TSA – MacBook Air & iPad In The Bag Or Out?

It is hard to believe I have been traveling with an iPad for well over half-a-year now and an 11″ MacBook Air for more than a month. Both of these travel tools have changed how I work on the road and how I pack … but both tools present a consistent problem at the start [...]

iPhone App of the Week : FlyTime

This week’s iPhone App of the Week keeps with my preference for simple and functional apps. This week’s iPhone App of the Week is Flytime. iPad App of the Week – Targus Stylus (its not an app)

Since I first received my iPad I’ve thought it was a near perfect device for so many things … I didn’t know what I was missing until earlier this week when I received a new accessory, an accessory I didn’t know I even needed.  This accessory has made using the iPad even easier … something [...]

iPhone App Of The Week : GorillaCam

While most people love iPhone Photo Apps, most just disappoint me … with a few exceptions … so I tend to just use the iPhone camera as is then edit the photos later in the Filterstorm App (which I really need to write about since its been overhauled & released for the iPhone). This week’s [...]

After being noticeably absent for the past few weeks from Flying With Fish as I focused primarily on aviation security stories I am happy to bring back the iPad App of the Week series. I ‘ve missed writing the Apps of the Week … so hopefully I’m done being side tracked for now. I am [...]

iPad App of the Week : TiltShift Generator

My photo editing on my iPad is usually similar to my editing on my computer … quick and dirty … crop, colour correct, size, save. For my primary editing with the iPad I use Filterstorm, which I have written about HERE (and I need to rewrite since the App has been improved significantly), but sometimes [...]

Travelers the world over face similar complications when dealing with conversions in currency, clothing sizes, how distance is measured and other basics information we all rely on every day. This week’s iPhone App of the Week addresses the basic conversion needs of travelers, regardless of where they are coming from and regardless of where they [...]

iPad App of the Week : National Geographic Magazine

This week’s iPad App of the Week really needs little introduction. If you read Flying With Fish then there is a high likelihood that you either love travel or photography … or both.  So … without further delay … … this week’s iPad App of the Week is National Geographic Magazine. National Geographic Magazine is [...]

iPhone App of the Week : AirportSearch

There are countless iPhone Apps for searching airfares, some for tracking mileage of routes and some apps or finding airports and airport codes. This week’s iPhone App combines the best search functions, with the ability to find airline-route options without a fare-search-engine telling you the obvious … plus it adds in some great travel geek [...]
