Steven Frischling, aka: Fish, is globe hopping professional photographer, airline emerging media consultant working with large global airlines and founder of The Travel Strategist. Fish has racked up more than 1,000,000 miles since he started to track his mileage in 2005.

Fish's travel tends to be less than leisurely, including flying from New York to Basrah, Iraq, for six hours; Hong Kong for eight hours, Kuwait City for two hours and traveling around the world in 3.5 days to shoot a series of photo assignments in 4 cities and 4 countries on 3 separate continents.

Fish grew up at the end of New York's JFK International Airport's Runway 4R/22L, which probably explains his enjoyment of watching planes, fly overhead. When not shooting photos or traveling Fish designs camera bags, hones is expertise on airline security and spends his time at home cheering for the Red Sox with his 3 kids 102 yards from the ocean.

iPad App of the Week : Boingo

Internet on the road, its a link to everything. Even with 3G iPhones and Blackberries, iPads with 3G and mobile 3G and 4G USB dongles to get travelers on the road, generally nothing is as quick as wifi for uploading, downloading and viewing graphics heavy internet content. This week’s iPad App of the Week is [...]

iPhone Apps of the Week : Air France & KLM

An iPhone App I have been waiting to see since December (when I was authoring KLM’s Blog) was released a few days ago … and in tandem. Sure quite a few airlines have iPhone Apps now, but this is the first time two airlines have coordinated the release of essentially the same app with two [...]

iPad App of the Week : Index Card

Sometimes useful apps for travel and creative business are intended and marketed at a completely different market for a completely unrelated group of users … yet their function is fantastic for travelers and ‘creatives.’ This week’s iPad App of the Week falls into this category. This week’s iPad App of the Week is Index Card. [...]

iPad App of the Week : AirportAce HD

Airport guides … there are countless airport guides for the iPhone, and I’ve written about a few of them as my iPhone App of the Week … however there are few options for airport guides designed for the iPad specifically. This week’s iPad App of the Week is the first airport guide developed specifically for [...]

iPhone App of the Week : ITA Software OnTheFly

If you’re a follower of my Twitterstream (@flyingwithfish) ,  you’ll see the same company’s website mentioned time and time again in regard to finding flight solutions and comparing airfares. This week’s iPhone App of the week is created by the same company I’ve recommend over and over again in Twitter. This week’s iPhone App of [...]

iPhone App of the Week : United Airlines Optathlon Games

Airline iPhone Apps tend to be utility items, focused on schedules, flight information, booking flights, keeping track frequent flyer miles and some include destination information … but this week’s iPhone App of the Week is focused on something else. This week’s iPhone App of the Week focuses on both having some fun and offers players [...]

iPad App of the Week : PocketTrav

It seems that all the good travel apps are designed for the iPhone, leaving iPad users out in the cold. The good news is that more travel apps are being released for iPad users … and this week’s iPad App of the Week is one of the new ones… …this week’s iPad App of the [...]

iPhone App of the Week : My TSA

This week’s iPhone App of the Week has been around for nearly two months, but due to the creator of this App I needed to make sure the App worked only in ‘one direction’ before writing about it.  In a society becoming more like George Orwell’s 1984 every day I needed to do some homework [...]

iPad App of the Week : Adobe Ideas

Sometimes the best Apps are the simplest Apps … and this week’s iPad App of the Week is one that makes creating concepts and sharing ideas as easy possible. This week’s iPad App of the Week is Adobe Ideas. Adobe Ideas takes the simplicity of using the iPad and transforms it into a highly functional [...]

iPhone App of the Week : eSkyGuide

Each week I receive quite a few e-mails from App developers offering me promo codes to check out their Apps … and a good number of these Apps are for airline flight trackers, travel booking and other related travel and airline Apps. For the most part I tend to skip travel-tracking Apps because 99.9% of [...]
