I compiled the following chart showing each airline’s travel waiver information due to the impact Hurricane Irene will cause on the East coast of the United States this weekend. Please keep in mind this is a dynamic situation and the airlines will likely update their waivers as conditions change. I will do my best to update the chart below as often as possible. As always, contact your airline directly should your flights be impacted. My apologies for how small the text is… lots of data to cram in there.

Is there a way to post this as text or in HTML? It looks like you have it as a graphic so I can’t read it with my screen reader.
    Thanks.

Hi J.J. I’ll email you a PDF, as text would ruin the formatting and I’m not web savvy enough to convert it to HTML and add to WordPress.

waiver summary is GREAT, but I can’t seem to find a concise location for FLIGHT cancellations and AIRPORT PLANNED closing.?

  4. Darren says:

For flight cancellations, I’d check the airline’s website as there are reportedly more than 1,000 already cancelled. Airport closures would be another good summary, but unfortunately I don’t have the time to put another chart together. I’d check with the appropriate airport authority.

I had to cancel my flight with Alaska Airlines because I was stuck in Boston (it was from Seattle to Vegas) and they wouldn’t reimburse me.

  6. Darren says:

Sorry to hear that, Alex. If I were you, I’d call back and try again to get it reimbursed. As with most U.S. airline call centers, hanging up and calling again will often give different results. Give it a try!
