Save even more by starting at FatWallet for an additional 1% back! From FatWallet, go to EBay, then search for Marriott gift card.  Plus, you’ll earn 2% back in EBay Bucks as well!

Note that Travel cards have more restrictions than regular Marriott gift cards (see below the Terms & Conditions that I bolded).  In practice, though, I’ve never had any of those restrictions enforced.

I bought 10 of these with my ebay account and 10 with my wife’s. Paid for both using OD Gift cards (5x).
They’ve come in the mail.
Great deal – wish I’d read the suggestion to go through MyPoints first.

Just to be sure– despite the T+C, these can be combined with promotion codes, correct?

Tom

Although if you buy the cards at 10x from Marriott using the black Marriott VISA I believe you will be earning 5 points per dollar that you spend on the cards. Nothing is ever simple and straightforward.

cindy

thanks, FM, I just found that. This is my first time to use ebay although I have 15 years online shopping experience. It seems that I always avoid using ebay. I do not know why. 🙂

Another ebay newbie question, what is ebay bucks? Do I need to register to it? I just register an ebay account but I did not find any information about ebay bucks.

Thanks!

cindy

dear fm,

do i need to pay by paypal? i do not have enough money in my paypal account. thanks!

FrequentMiler

cindy: No, you can pay with a credit card. To make it easy, link a credit card to your PayPal account first

MileageUpdate

Make sure you also go thru Mypoints and earn 1200 mypoints for the $400 purchase (thats equal to about 600 United Miles)

FrequentMiler

MileageUpdate: Good idea!

THX.
Trying to weigh up if it is better to use the current 10x offer from gifts.marriott.com as if I buy these using 5x GC this is 500 point plus $20 per $100 spend.
vs. 5x GC and 1000 points for $100 spend.

At Marriott you can buy 2k points for $25. this means this deal is even better than the 10x promotion.

see below:
Marriott Rewards Bonus Points Offer

Offer not valid on Marriott GiftCards purchased via Marriott properties, 3rd parties or 1 800 813 GIFT and cannot be combined with any other offer/promotion. Marriott Rewards members earn 10 bonus points per dollar for each GiftCard purchase made online at gifts.marriott.com and by entering their valid Marriott Rewards number in the Promotion Code field at checkout. A maximum of 20,000 Marriott Rewards points may be earned per member.

russel: I think of it much more simply — Marriott points, in my opinion, are worth less than a penny each, but let’s say they’re worth a penny to make it easy. In that case, the Marriott 10X deal is like a 10% discount, whereas this is a 20% discount. This Ebay deal is much better.

Ron

Max of 10 – so only $400. Boo. Need to use second eBay account for 10 more…

FrequentMiler

Ron: Yep, I ran into that too. I’ll stop at $400

Nick

Not travel-related, but in case anybody’s interested: you can get GCs from Dell, Old Navy, and iTunes 20% off via the Coinstar promotion through Dec 9.

Vincent Fox

Not liking the part about no points when used. Pass!

FrequentMiler

Vincent Fox: I’ve used these cards about 7 or 8 times and I’ve received points every time. I don’t know why that language is there.

russell

Any idea if these can be used internationally?

FrequentMiler

russell: Yes, they can be used internationally. I used one in London last week.

[…] the Frequent Miler illustrates a good 20% discount (via deals seeker) on Marriott gift cards in his post today. So you can get 25% off an award with Marriott and get gift cards for incidental spend at a 20% […]

Gabriel

Is this “travel card” capable of being sold on Cardpool as a Marriott Gift card? Hmmm….

FrequentMiler

Gabriel: Probably
