Best credit card offers

Below are the best publicly available offers that I know of. Check your mail though because it is sometimes the case that the best offers are not public. If you plan to signup for multiple cards at once, it’s a good idea to sign-up for no more than two cards with each bank with each “churn”.  If you’re interested in the best cards for earning points and status through spend, please see “Preparing for Miles.”

Credit score
It’s a good idea to check your credit score before signing up for cards. Here are two excellent and free options (I use both personally):  Credit Sesame and Credit Karma.

Cards listed below are sorted by bank, not by quality of offer:

Question, how come most bloggers cannot put the Citi and Amex American Airlines offers where you can actually see the 50K bonus points? I have been shy about applying for the american airlines cards (both for amex and citi) because i cannot truly confirm I will be getting the sign up. Thoughts?

    3. Mariana: I’ve been nervous about that too! The issue is with Citi’s signup pages: they simply don’t show the bonus offer. I’m hoping that Citi/AA will do a more official promotion so that the bonus points will be more clear. Until then, it does take a leap of faith to signup for these cards.

    4. Very nice, FrequentMiler! Love the tables!

@Mariana, last August, I applied both Citi AA cards for my wife using the Flyertalk links – both came through with the bonus miles. This past Janauary, we each applied for two Citi Hilton cards (also with no explicit bonus showing). Again, the bonus came through. Good luck!

    7. bluecat says:

With all due respect for your work, I think you’re missing a major factor in a “Churn”. I’ve brought it up with other bloggers and can’t really understand why no one takes care of the following issue…

What if you already had the ABC card once before? can you get it again AND get the signon bonus? If so, are there minimal wait requirements, or other tricks (such as getting a new FF#). Some cards can be churned this way (e.g. SPG Amex needs a new number to get the bonus), while others (Chase BA) cannot. Some require extreme measures, such as another physical address.

THIS is the sort of information I was hoping you would include in your table. With this, the table is really more of the standard “what card should I sign up for?” table that every other blogger also has, isn’t it?

    8. bluecat says:

oops… Meant to write “As it stands, this table is really more of the standard “what card should I sign up for?” table that every other blogger also has, isn’t it? What many of us who have all these cards already is the guide for “the 2nd time around with these same cards”! ”

Thanks and I do appreciate all your great work!

    9. bluecat: That’s a a fantastic suggestion! I’ve put it on my to-do list. As to whether my chart is the same as what other bloggers have: yes and no. I think much of the information is probably the same, but I’ve organized it in a way that, for me, makes planning much easier. For example, MMS has cards on separate pages depending on whether they are airline, hotel, or bank point cards. This is a sensible way to arrange things, but it makes churn planning very difficult for me since I want to see all of the best Chase options in one place, all of the Amex options in one place, etc. I also like having everything in a nice easy to read table with bonus points and minimum spend requirements easy to see.

    10. bluecat says:

@FM, Your table is fine, don’t get me wrong. Just lacking in the one thing that is interesting to those of us who already have all of them and just need to know if we can “re-up” or not and, if so, how? I’ve been “denied” by Chase a couple of times here, and I’ve been FR’ed by Amex because of this, so the topic is near and dear to me!

    11. OldFlyer says:

I like the layout much better than many of the other blog sites!

    12. Ford says:

Another table is always welcome provided it’s up-to-date!

Usability/ease of use suggestion: Collapse the different bank offerings and the users could expand them with a click on a “+” sign or whatever. Also, it would make it a bit easier on the eyes if you could even alternate between a lighter and darker shade of the table color by row, so it’s easier for the eye to follow the info across, as well as remember where one is in the table.

    13. OldFlyer: Thanks!

      Ford: Thanks for the suggestions!

    14. FEV says:

Could you, perhaps, put an “updated as of XX” date at the top of the page so that we/everyone can know that the list is/has been updated?

      Thank you.

Miler-Due to your recent posts I could not pass up pulling the trigger on the Ink Bold card. Applied with your link to get you a few extra bucks. 21. Joshua: Congratulations! And, thanks for using my link!

    22. Julian says:

It looks like the annual fee on the BofA Alaska card has dropped to $75. Minor change, thought I’d point it out. Thanks for all the great info!

    23. Julian: Thanks! I think the $99 was just a typo on my part. I’ve fixed it now.

    24. dima says:

Looks like BofA Virgin Atlantic link is dead now

    25. dima: Thanks! Fixed.

    26. Nick says:

Just to echo what Bluecat said above, I’d like to see you build more info into your chart. As he said, I’d like to know how frequent (in months) each card is “churnable” (if at all). I’d like to know how many cards for each bank I can hold at one time (e.g., I believe one can only have three personal cards with Chase at any one time?). I’d like to know the minimum waiting time between applications for each bank (hard to pin down, I realize). I’d like to know which credit bureau each bank pulls from (assuming it’s even consistent).

I’m a bit of a newb, so I apologize if I assume too much.

Love your blog. I’m gearing up for my wife’s churn in a few days and I’ll be sure to use your links.

    27. Nick: thanks for the suggestions! I do have some of this on my to-do list: sorry it has taken so long!

    28. hey: thanks, I’ve updated the page with that link!

    29. dc says:

The Bank of America Virgin Atlantic American Express® Card link no longer works. probably expired.

    30. dc: Thanks for the heads-up. You’re right, the offer expired 6/30. I’ve removed the link. Sorry that I didn’t know it was expiring!

    31. jkm1317 says:

the amex spg personal is not working…

    32. jkm1317: the SPG link works for me. Can you try with a different browser? I know that some people have had trouble with some versions of IE

    33. katleg says:

I’m looking for a card to build my United miles & to be able to shop through the Ultimate Rewards Mall to earn more United miles. Which card will suit my needs? Also, am I able to earn a companion pass through United for a flight to Europe?

    34. katleg: My favorite Ultimate Rewards card is the Ink Bold, but since it is a business card it can be daunting to some people. Of the personal cards, I’d recommend the Sapphire Preferred if you travel and/or eat out often. Otherwise, the Freedom is a fantastic no-fee card.

    35. katleg says:

I have a business so which is better Ink Bold or the Sapphire? I don’t have any Ultimate Rewards cards at the moment. Will both of those cards points transfer to United miles?

    36. Katleg: both are fantastic cards. If you’re willing to do a little extra work, the Ink Bold can get you many more points (see my post “one card to rule them all”). For those who want to keep things simple, the Saphire preferred is great since it automatically gives 2x for dining and travel. Both cards transfer to United (and to other programs). Many people sign up for both (for the signip bonuses) and then cancel one after a year when the annual fee comes due

    37. Dave says:

I am surprised that you don’t have the Citi Forward card on your list – 5X TYP for Dining, Amusement, Bookstores (including Amazon).

    38. Dave: This page is dedicated to cards with good signup bonuses regardless of whether they’re good cards for day to day use. Cards that can be used day to day to earn lots of points and miles are on my “Preparing for Miles” page. Thanks to your suggestion, I added the Forward card to that page.

    39. katleg says:

Just applied for two different Chase cards. Instant approval on one and pending on the other. How long should I wait before calling Chase for the pending one? Also, are you awear of any cards that pull from Transunion other than Barclays?

    40. Katlet: there’s no harm in calling right away if you want to move things along. If its for a business card you’ll have to call M-F, during business hours

    41. Chris says:

Hi! The Hawaiian Bank link doesn’t work. I tried even going to their main page, but something’s broke!

    42. Chris: thanks for the notice. Hopefully they’re just doing some system maintenance in which case the page should be available again soon.

    43. Tracy says:

I just completed my churn with this table (and your links!) I got accepted for two cards instantly (Delta Gold & Virgin Atlantic) and I had to call Citi to shuffle some credit for the new Hilton Reserve. I love this game! The plan is to use the Hilton nights for two nights in HNL to add onto our Maui trip and change the virgin points into hilton points as well. For the Delta points I plan on cusioning the 17000 I just got from the PetRX deal last week and using a future vacation. Again I love this game, thanks for helping this middle income couple enjoy the world!

    44. Tracy: Congratulations on the approvals, and thanks for using my links! It sounds like you have a great plan for a great trip.

    45. brl says:

@frequentmiler, I am new to the game. Always had an amex green. I started my new hobby with the Chase BA cc and utilized the amex 50% transfer bonus to avios because I take a lot of domestic short haul flights. Then i went after AA miles using the browser tick, I am waiting to hear back from citi (just moved and they needed proof of my new address). My next goals are to run (a) run the Chase 140k churn (sapphire, ink bold & ink) and (b) get the starwood amex as an every day card and to accumulate points for hotel stay. Any advice? I just got a Chase is it too soon to apply for some of their other cards. Also when you say wait X days till you apply for another cc do you mean days since application or approval? PS I have a +800 credit score if that makes it easier to apply more often.

    46. brl: All of those are great choices. I would recommend going with the Ink Bold or Ink Plus now, and then wait 91+ days (after application) to apply for the Sapphire Preferred and then wait another 3 months for the other Ink. Chase doesn’t like to approve more than one Ink every 6 months (they will approve if pressed, by why push it?). Starwood is a great choice too, of course. Tomorrow, the SPG business card will have a slightly better signup offer so wait for that at least. I don’t know if we’ll see the same with the SPG personal.

    47. Julian says:

Just received an offer today for up to 40,000 miles on the BofA Alaska card via this link:
      http://go.bofa.com/hawaii

      Offer expires 10/31/12.

    48. Julian: Thanks! I’ve updated the page with that 40K offer.

    49. Grant Thomas says:

I recently applied and received the Chase Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card through the FlyerTalk link and received my 70,000 Marriott Points, 1 free night each year at category 4 hotel, and no annual fee ($85 second year). It would be great if you could add a column at the end with churnability information, such as how long you have to wait to re-apply for the card. Thanks for keeping this list up to date FM :)

I don’t see a link in your chart for the Alaska offer. Can you please add it?

    51. Carol: the link is in the bottom table (there are four separate tables on the page). Here it is directly: http://go.bofa.com/hawaii

    52. [...] Frequent Miler’s Blog and page with application link (the third link down) [...]

      Virgin Atlantic Link isn’t working

    56. PattonRoberta: Thanks. I’ve taken down the Virgin Atlantic link. Hopefully the offer will reappear soon.

      Southwest offers are dead…

    58. Jeff: Thanks. Updated.

Here is a trick to get 65K miles +$50 statement credit with the Chase Explorer Plus. I cannot take credit for it, but here’s the explanation:

      http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milesbuzz/1330475-ua-mileage-explorer-card-offer-up-60k-miles-now-65k-50-statement-credit-53.html#post19265620

It’s post #786. Just did it and worked great!

    60. IrishTiger says:

Would be neat if this table was interactive so I could sort by bonus miles. :)

    61. IrishTiger: That would be neat. I can do that. Do you think it would be better all in one table or separate tables by bank as it is now?

    62. Andrew says:

Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express OPEN link is now showing it is no longer a valid offer. Any suggestions to a comparable offer?

    63. Andrew: Some of the Amex links are broken right now. I’m working to get them fixed ASAP

    64. MAC says:

One card IMO worth getting right now is the US BANK Cash+ card. You pick categories quarterly. One 2% category and 2 5% categories. Right now, I have Hotel and Bill Pay as the 5% categories. Airlines is another 5% category. Bill Pay includes satellite/cable/phone/electric/gas but also includes insurance when paid via their cc. You need to repick categories every quarter and they are subject to change but the choices have not changed since the card came out around June 2012. They used to have a $50 signup bonus via FB but not sure if it is still available.

    65. MAC: Thanks for the reminder. I’ve been meaning to add that card to the Preparing for Miles page. It doesn’t belong on the Best credit card offers page because it doesn’t have a big signup bonus.

    66. choi says:

my experience with AM Business is not so thrill even though I got the sign up bonus of 75k. Currently I met the required spending of 10k but yet to see any points in the system. I m on my second statement but paid the first. Unlike the Amex SPG where I get my points at the end of the closing period (not Paid), this gold card dont reward me until the end of the billing period, which is like a month after you receive a bill. from the time of any purchase, points wont be seen for at lease two months.
this is rather slow and ridiculous. anyone plan to chum this card remember to stop spending two to three months before the year is up. just my two cents , thanks

    67. WishyAnand says:

What a useful page. Would be even better with the right column of ads, tags etc… narrower or nonexistent plus the table starting out asap instead of after one page down.

I assume this is one page where you can reduce the right side since the affiliate links can make up for lost revenue. Any card I get will definitely be through your links.

Sorting example that I like (link might not work within a day or two):

      https://sites.google.com/site/renochessclub/wso/preregistration

    68. WishyAnand: Thanks! I don’t have direct control over the ad placements (BoardingArea does), but I’ll contact them to see if they are willing to forgo the right side stuff on this page. I’m also looking into moving the links to a sortable / searchable table as suggested by you and others.

    69. Grant says:

For the Amex Hilton Honors, the application says: “Get 40,000 HHonors Bonus Points when you spend $750 with your Card within the first three months of Cardmembership.
      .
Get an additional 25,000 Bonus Points when you spend $3,000 with your Card within the first six months of Cardmembership.”
      .
So it sounds like the $750 is included in the next $3000 spend threshold.

    70. Grant: good point. I think you’re right. I’ll change the text.

    71. Grant says:

Thx FM, it’s missing the words “spend an additional $3,000″ :)

    72. newbie flyer says:

Thanks for the post. Howeve i see that the link to southwest business rewards card is not working. Is there any alternative link available? Is the offer Still on

    73. Steve says:

These links need to be updated more. Quite a few of the links and offer are outdated. I want to support you but I just can’t trust some of these links that are outdated making it a guessing game.

    74. Steve: I’ll check the links tomorrow. Sorry for the problems. Links get changed all the time without notice so it’s often through readers like you that I learn about these issues. Thanks for alerting me

    75. webazoid says:

so it seems like ink bold gives 2 free lounge passes while ink plus doesn’t?

i also noticed that ink plus is a mastercard. is ink bold visa?

once u have ink bold/plus for a year, any benefit to keeping it after paying the $95 fee vs downgrading to ink cash or ink classic?

    76. Webazoid says:

Assuming u already have and plan to keep sapphire

    77. webazoid: Ink Plus also offers two lounge passes. Both Ink Plus and Ink Bold are MasterCards. The only reason to consider keeping the Bold or Plus as opposed to downgrading if you also have the Sapphire Preferred is if you value the 2 annual lounge passes or if the $25K cap on 5X categories isn’t enough (the Ink cash and Ink classic limit you to $25K in 5X whereas the Bold and Plus allow $50K annually). In general, I think downgrading is a good approach.

    78. webazoid says:

thanks! applied and approved w/ ur link!

    79. webazoid says:

      ink plus

    80. webazoid: Thanks! And, congrats on the approval!

    81. Grant says:

I applied for both Barclays (US Air and Frontier) and both BOA (HI Air and BOH HI Air) and I think all four were shot down. Barclays is a tough cookie to crack. In retrospect, I think I should have done one of each, instead of two :(

    82. Timmy says:

If you acquire points via the Freedom card, you can convert those to your ultimate rewards if you have a Sapphire or Ink card, which can be converted to airline miles. But does anyone know if you can do this with a spouse’s card? Meaning if I have a freedom card and my wife has a sapphire card, can I turn those freedom points into Ultimate Rewards transferable to an airline mileage program? I thought I had read this before but I can’t seem to find anything about it online.

    83. Trevor says:

@Timmy: You can do it something like this: Transfer the points from your Freedom account to your wife. The T&C allow points transfers to a spouse without a problem. Then you you wife can transfer the points to the airlines that she chooses.

    84. Timmy says:

@Trevor – Would the same approach would work if instead of a Sapphire, the card was an Ink Bold? I assume they are the same. Thanks!

    85. Trevor says:

@Timmy-Yes it should work for any Chase card that allows for transfers to airlines.

    86. newbie008 says:

@FrequentMiler: MMS has quoted that his link for southwest cards (50k offer) will expire tomorrow. Do you think your link will also expire tomorrow or not? It will be helpful to make a decision if I knew that!

      Thanks

    87. newbie008: Yes, my Southwest links expire at 10 am EST this morning too.

    88. The Southwest links still appear to work, so I’ll keep them up until they break.

    89. newbie008 says:

FM: It seems the links are gone. Your link takes me to chase Credit cards page and there if I click on Southwest card, the new offer is Spend $1000 in 3 months and get points for 1 round trip flight. They just cut the spending requirement and bonus into half!

I hope it is not any cookie issue with my browser!

    90. newbie008: You’re right. I’ve removed the links.

    91. Thanks to Million Mile Secrets for finding 3 still working 50K offers for the Southwest card! I’ve updated this page accordingly.

    92. Ree says:

There are so many kinds of points, can you mention the exchange rate that it takes to buy gift cards from the various types of points?

For example, is 50k thank you points equal to 50k Southwest points in terms of the amount of gift cards you could purchase with each?

    93. Ree: I mostly look at credit cards for their value in using for travel. For gift cards, the value you get often depends on what type of gift card you redeem for. If I remember right, though, both ThankYou points and Southwest points can be redeemed for Marriott gift cards at a rate of 1 point per cent. i.e 50,000 points = $500 worth of gift cards. That’s the maximum you’re likely to get though. Some gift cards may cost more points.

    94. Jack L says:

I’ve applied for business cards before, but not from Amex. On the two applications I just tried, neither allowed me to use my SSN as my Tax ID number for my sole propietership. Both required a Federal Business ID number. Is this a rule across Amex business cards? Are there any Amex business cards where you can use your SSN?

    95. Jack L: That might be a new requirement. I have several Amex business cards in which I applied with my SSN. What happens when you put in your SSN? How about trying to leave the field blank?

    96. Jack L says:

@FM, The format of the input box does not allow for SSN. It requires ##-#######. But I found you can get an EIN immediately online (provided you have a legitimate business of course.) You do that here: https://sa2.www4.irs.gov/modiein/IndividualEINClientServlet?action=StartNewAppAction

I got an EIN for my new business and then got approved for the Amex!

    97. FYI, the official Citibank 50K AA offer ends tomorrow (12/13/2012) end of day. As far as I know, the unofficial 50K offers will live on (at least, I hope so).

    98. FYI 40k Citi Thank You Preferred offer ends tomorrow (Friday)

    99. andy says:

      Hey FM,
My sister is considering going after the southwest companion pass by applying for the business and personal cards. What do you think her chances would be of getting the 50,000 points using these links even though the offers are officially dead? Should she take screen shots of the landing pages if she needs to argue with Chase later on?
      Thanks for your awesome blog.
      Andy

    100. andy: I believe its safe to go for the Southwest 50K offers. Yes, it is a good idea to take screen shots of the offer, just in case.

    101. Added Delta 45K offer

    102. I just added a second US Airways 40K offer. The main difference seems to be that the original offer (still listed) is intended just for elite members (but seems to work for everyone) and that offer gives a 10K bonus each year. The new offer I added is available to everyone, but does not have the 10K annual perk.

Both offers are advertised by Barclays as “50K” offers, but 10K of that is from balance transfers which I do not recommend.

    103. What are the cash equivalent bonus values? says:

I recommend to add another column called “$ Bonus Value” listing the approximate value of the full bonus so that one can compare the relative bonus offer values. 50k points from card A isnt necessarily equal to 50k points from card B. This would allow for an easier apples to apples comparison by converting all values to $ Dollars.

    104. What are…: That’s a very good idea. My only constraint right now is that there really isn’t room on the page to add another column. I’m working with BoardingArea to see if they can change the layout of this page to make it wider so that I can do things like this.

    105. phil says:

You mention “two free lounge passes” with the Ink Bold. I have this card and I’ve never received a lounge pass. Check that will ya?

      Thanks

    106. [...] I'm probably going to burn in hell for eternity for referencing a blog, but this may help: http://boardingarea.com/blogs/freque…ign-up-offers/ …although it doesn't mention how much you need to obtain [...]

    107. phil: to get your free lounge visits from the Ink Bold, go to http://www.loungeclub.com/inkcard and enter invitation code CHASEINK. You will get a free lounge club membership card that entitles you to two free visits each year.

    108. phil says:

@FM, thanks on the lounge tip.

    109. Tsung says:

      good post

    110. JP says:

Chase United MileagePlus® Explorer [Expired offer]

      30K to 65K First use Free ($95)

Couple of data points: The 50K offers are still available at Chase branch offices. It is undetermined whether or not you can PHONE a branch and sign up that way (if a brick and mortar branch is not near you). The minimum spend for that offer is $1000.
I do believe there is a public offer of 30K right now… not expired.

Enjoyed your presentation at LAX last month.

    111. HikerT says:

As far as the US card, any reason why you don’t highlight the better non-affiliate link is still working for everyone? While you did mention this in the comments, how many readers are going to see it buried in 100+ comments? Also, it has been widely reported on FT that you will get the Chairman’s offer, even if approved for a lesser version of the card. That risk applies to the affiliate link, not the better offer. For now, there is only downside and no real upside to using the lesser affiliate link.

    112. HikerT says:

Also, you currently show the first year fee waived for the US affiliate offer. This is not correct. Only the better non-affiliate offer has the first year fee waived, in addition to 10K at each anniversary.

    113. HikerT: Thanks for pointing out those items. I’ve updated the page. I certainly didn’t intend to imply that the affiliate offer was as good. It’s definitely not. The only reason I added it was for people who may be uncomfortable with applying for an offer that is not intended for them.

    114. JP: Thanks! I’ve edited that row with the info you gave

    115. Eric says:

The Chase Southwest Business Visa referral link did not work. Is it dead?

    116. Eric: The business link does seem to work for me (try your browser in Private mode / Incognito mode). However, the Premier offer expired so I removed that one. Not that it matters, but the current Southwest links aren’t actually my referral links, they’re just the best offers I could find.

    117. Eric says:

Thanks for the quick reply. Your suggestion worked like a charm. Since the Southwest links are not yours, I hope that the Club Carlson Visa is a referral link. Thanks again for your blog and its organized content.

    118. Stephen says:

I want to get a Chase Sapphire Prefered card and even though they work with Oneworld Alliance I can not see if they honor Iberia. Does anyone know the answer to this?

    119. Eric: Thanks! I don’t yet have affiliate links for Club Carlson cards either, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from getting one of those cards. They’re terrific cards
Stephen: with the Sapphire Preferred (or Ink Bold or Ink Plus) you can transfer points to British Airways. From there, once your Iberia account has been open for 3 months, you can transfer points to Iberia.

    120. Surprisingly, the Ink Bold & Ink Plus 50K after $5K spend offers still seem to work. I really thought they would be dead by Jan 1. Thanks Chase!

    121. Danny Lee says:

      FM;

Is AA Visa and AMEX for 50K each offer still alive? If so, how long would it last?

I know they have other “Public offer” that’s not as good.

    122. irishtiger says:

I’m with Danny Lee. Found some links through MMS but not sure when they were last updated.

    123. ET says:

It looks like the Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® Visa Signature® is only offering 30k now. Is that correct?

    124. Danny Lee, Irishtiger, and ET: Yes, AA 50K offers still exist, but the application landing pages do not tell you what kind of bonus you’ll get. You need to take a leap of faith that they’ll work. Luckily, this thread on FlyerTalk is kept up to date. Read the very first post as it is regularly updated with the latest information.

    125. 100K DEAL: All, there is an opportunity now to get the Amex Platinum Personal card with a 100K bonus!
Go to creditcards.com (this is my affiliate link).
Then look for a link near the top left that says “Offers matched for you” and click it.
Fill out the info. I’ve found that I get the 100K offer (as well as a good 50K offer for the PRG card) without putting in my SSN!
Hat tip to FlyerTalk and Travel-Summary

    126. Trevor says:

Sweet! Thanks FM! That new Platinum Amex is on the way for my wife. We just did an AOR one week ago, and my wife didn’t apply for an Amex for some reason. Apparently this was the reason, waiting for this better offer. It was just meant to be.

    127. Chimmy says:

I have an AmEx Business Gold Rewards card. I would love to sign up for the Platinum personal deal, but the language regarding ownership of a consumer gold/green/zync card excluding you from the bonus scares me. I would like Business / Consumer should be different, but who knows?!

    128. Trevor: Great! My wife just did her AOR this morning and included the Platinum card as well. Instant approval!
Chimmy: Great question. I believe that Amex handles business/consumer separately so I think you’ll be fine, but I can’t say that I’m 100% sure. Anyone else know for sure? I know that I’ve received bonuses 2 times with other combinations (e.g. SPG personal and business; Delta personal & business)

    129. The 100K and 50K Amex offers through creditcards.com appears to be dead now. Congrats to everyone who jumped on it quickly!

    130. ET says:

FYI: Starwood seems to be down to 10k:

“Earn 10,000 Starpoints® with your first eligible purchase. Get 1 Starpoint® for every dollar of eligible purchases.‡†”

    131. ET: Put your browser into private browsing mode (“incognito mode” in Chrome) and try again. You should see the 25K offer

    132. ET says:

      @FrequentFlyer Completely correct. Thanks.

    133. jimjam says:

I pulled the trigger on a plat for me, and a gold for my fiance. Wondering if we can transfer the points b/w our accounts. Also wondering if someone could explain airport lounge access to me. Specifically, how does the priority pass work? Do I need to be flying on a particular airline in order to use that airline’s lounge?

    134. jimjam: I don’t know if you can transfer MR points from one account to another, but you can transfer MR points from different accounts to a single airline program.
Lounge access: There are two separate things. The card itself gives you access to US Airways clubs anytime and Delta & AA clubs when flying. The other perk is that you get Priority Pass Select membership which gives you access to a long list of lounges, mostly internationally (but not to United lounges).

    135. jimjam says:

So we could transfer the points in each MR account to a a single frequent flier account (my British Airways account for example)? Thanks FM, you’re the man. I always try to use your links whenever I sign (myself or others) up for cards.

    136. jimjam: Yes, that’s right, both of you could transfer MR points to your single BA account. Ideally wait for a good transfer bonus. They often offer a 30% bonus (or higher) for transfers to BA. So, your 150,000 MR points would then become 195,000 BA points in that example. Or, just wait until you actually need the miles since you might decide that Delta, Singapore, or another airline better suits your needs at the time.

    137. I had to remove the Ink Classic offer. Hopefully it will be back soon.

    138. RP says:

Chase Priority Club now requires $1000 spend in 3 months to get the 80K bonus. Thank you again for your site.

    139. RP: That’s right! Thanks for the correction. It will be fixed momentarily

    140. philly says:

Your link to the Surpass card says 60K pts but it shows 50K when I click on the link.

    141. philly says:

After I cleared my cookies I WAS able to see the 60K Surpass offer.
      Cheers!!

    142. philly: Great! Another option in that situation is to put your browser into private browsing mode / incognito mode. That works too.

    143. Jesson says:

Thank you so much for your post.
Can I apply for Chase freedom visa card and master card at the same day?

    144. Jesson: You can, but most likely you’ll get declined for one unless you call the reconsideration department and explain why you need both.

    145. New 75K offer for the Amex Business Rewards Gold (apply by Jan 28): apply here (this is not a referral link)
requires $10K spend. Note this T&C: “Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have had this product or any other Business Gold, Green or Platinum Card® account within the last 12 months.”
I’m pretty sure those restrictions only apply to business cards. That is, if you’ve owned the personal Platinum card I think you’re OK

    146. Jesson says:

      Any discover cards you recommend?
      Many thanks!

      Jesson

    147. mark says:

Do you do any private messages. Ready for our first churn but have a few questions but do not want to put it our here how much we can spend or the cards we currently have. Thanks

    148. Jesson: go for the new Discover It card

Mark: sure! Feel free to email me. You can find my email address on my Contact Frequent Miler page

    149. Here’s a new Airtran offer for 32 credits after spending $2,000 within 3 months: https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/airtran/park

    150. Dewey says:

One of the most complete site I have found. Good job.

    151. Doug says:

Off topic, but would you consider having the new posts listed at the top rather than the bottom (if that is an option), and maybe altering the settings so it shows, say 25 per page rather than a long scroll of 159 (again, if that is an option).

      Thanks! Great info here.

    152. Doug: Thanks for the suggestion. I have asked BoardingArea to do that, but they’re not ready to make those changes yet.

    153. FYI: I just added the NFL $400 offer. The promotion is tied to the Super Bowl so I expect it will be withdrawn very soon.

    154. Added Marriott 70K offer

    155. Sadly the first year free US Airways offer has gone away so I removed that row from the table. The $89, not waived, version is still available with its 40K bonus.

    156. Also, the Amex Business Gold 75K offer has expired so I removed that too.

    157. Restored the first year free link, but now it offers 35K miles instead of 40K

    158. Bruce says:

Where can one buy GIFT CARDS using CREDIT CARDS in the U.S…? I’m not finding any at CVS, Walgreens, or any of the usual outlets. They only take cash now..?

    159. And, the US Airways no fee 40K offer is back! Not sure how long this one will stick around… The no fee one is not an affiliate link.

    160. US Airways 40K update: the link for the first year no-fee 40K bonus doesn’t work unless you first click through to the app for the 35K bonus. I’ve put both links together in on this page and clearly labeled them so as to make this easy (neither are affiliate links)

    161. US Airways updates never stop: I removed the affiliate link offer because it dropped from 40K to 30K bonus points after first purchase. Non affiliate 35K and 40K offers are still listed.

    165. bf: Thanks for letting me know! I’ll update the page shortly
Dima: Sorry about that! I’ll fix the page soon. For now, here are the links:

    167. Added 50K PRG offer. Removed and fixed many broken links

    168. Added Barclay Arrival card 20K offer and separated Barclays into its own table

    169. After multiple reports that the USAirways 40K offer doesn’t work, I removed it. Still have 35K offer

    170. bf says:

FM, Just checked your Barclays Frontier link and it seems like the offer is still alive, so I’d leave it.

    171. bf: you were correct before that the Frontier link wasn’t working so I replaced it with a non-affiliate link that I found that does work

    172. [...] are his links http://boardingarea.com/blogs/frequentmiler/best-credit-card-sign-up-offers/ the current ones for the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Ink Bold are as good as you can get [...]

    173. Added Southwest Premier 50K offers (in addition to the already existing Southwest Plus 50K offers). The Plus offers are a better deal for those who plan to cancel in a year. Otherwise, it might be worth the extra annual fee for the Premier in order to get 6K bonus points per year rather than 3K. 6K points amounts to just over $100 worth of “Wanna getaway” fares. Note that none of these are currently my affiliate links.

    174. [...] Better offer of the moment:  35,000 miles after first use, no annual fee the first year ($89 thereafter). [...]

    175. Galway1ca says:

If I apply for the Chase Sapphire card online and get the 40,000 miles sign up bonus, can I then go into a Chase branch the same day (or the next day) and apply for the Chase Explorer card? I previously had a Chase Explorer card from 1/9/12 and cancelled it on 11/24/12. Will I get another sign up bonus with the Explorer card? When I tried it on line, the link was only for 30,000 miles and I had some recent activity (by using my old basic Chase United VISA). Really would like to get the 55,000 bonus with Chase Explorer card again. I’ve waited over 4 months, so hoping this is enough time for Chase to re-consider me. Thanks!

    176. Galway1ca: I think it is too soon. My understanding is that Chase doesn’t like to give the same bonus again for the same product.

    177. Galway1ca says:

Is is possible to go to a Chase branch and ask for both the Sapphire VISA and Sapphire Mastercard? Or is Chase too stingy? I really need the signup bonuses to up my UAL balance.

    178. Yuda says:

Applied for the usair 35k link here and got this message: “We apologize for the inconvenience, but our website is experiencing technical issues.
Please contact us at 1-866-419-6437 or try again later.”
so re-applied with this 40k+AF link https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/Landing.action?campaignId=1695&cellNumber=48&referrerid=CF112daabc201338027514156b412823 and got this message: “Our records indicate you have already submitted 1 application(s) in the past 30 days. Please do not submit another. Information about the status of your previous application(s) will be mailed to by the bank as soon as possible.”
Called them and they say I was approved with 5k limit…no idea which one

    179. Galway1ca: No, Chase doesn’t like people to have more than one Sapphire Preferred.
Yuda: I also got the first error message you listed, but I received an email later saying that I was automatically approved. I bet you got the 35K deal.

    180. Galway1ca says:

If I get a Chase Sapphire VISA and get the 40,000 UR sign up points, can my husband get the Chase Ink Bold (he has a business) and transfer the 40,000 UR points from that card to my UA frequent flyer account?

    181. Galway1ca: Yes. Your husband would get 50,000 points from the Ink Bold signup (once he meets the $5K min spend requirement). He could move UR points directly to your UR account or to your UA account. Chase allows this for spouses.

    182. Update: Added Amex Business Gold 75K offer ($10K spend) and cleaned up some broken links

    183. Scott H says:

You don’t have a link for the Virgin America card from Barclays – is that an oversight, do you not consider it a good deal, or ???

    184. Scott H: I do have a Virgin America card link on my basic Credit Cards page, but I don’t think its good enough to put on the Best Offers page. Do you know of a better offer?

    185. I’ve updated the Priority Club link to be a direct link to Chase’s 60K offer. The 80K deal doesn’t seem to work anymore.

    186. Nancy Petrotta says:

When I log into my UA F/F account, I see the banner for the UA Explorer card with a 30,000 bonus sign up. Even though I terminated that card last November 2012, could I possibly get this card with that bonus? Or does Chase not give bonuses twice? My credit is 786 and I pay off all my credit cards every month. Thanks.

    187. Nancy Perotta: If you had the same exact Chase personal card before, then they probably will not give you a sign-up bonus again.

    188. Added 50K Lufthansa offer from Barclays

    189. DonT says:

Any thoughts on Citi Executive card 50, 000 sign up?

    190. Jesson says:

      Hey, FM

Hope your MMM (Million Mile Madness) is going alright.

In terms of the AMEX Gold Cards, I am not sure whether someone else has posted this before. Here I found a better link that you can get 75,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $5,000 in the first 3 months of Card membership.

      Hope it will help. https://www262.americanexpress.com/business-card-application/prospect/business-gold-charge-card/apply/44094-9-0/?ch=ua&offerType=ps&transactionID=C0B231B486864B18A5FC5E1F9C16EABA&intlink=us-open-bizua-npaoffers-business-gold-charge-card-applynow&PSKU=UADF

      Jesson

    191. DonT: I haven’t had a chance to look into that one yet, but I’ll do so soon.

Jesson: Thanks, this is great! I’ve updated the page

    192. Added 50K AA offer for $450 AA card. Not a great offer compared to the other AA offers, but if you’re desperate for AA miles or EQMs it might be worth considering.

    193. Jesson says:

      Hi, FM
I don’t think currently Hilton HHonors still offer 6X Hilton, grocery, drugs, gas, phone, cable, internet.
      Thanks
      Jesson

    194. Jesson: 6X Hilton grocery, gas, drug stores is going to end in May, but is still going strong for now (that’s my understanding anyway)

    195. Peter says:

I was about to put in a round of applications, but now that 50k Amex Gold is no longer showing up for me. Anyone else still able to see it?

    196. Peter: You’re right, that offer seems to have gone away. I’ll update this page. Sorry about that.

    197. It looks like the $89 Barclays Arrival card no longer offers 2X for all purchases (just for travel and dining now) so I took the card off the best offers list.

    198. Laura says:

I was looking for 6X groceries, so I tried the AMEX Blue Cash Preferred and the card match link had a repeated “experiencing computer system issues” message. Tried the HHonors & that did not work, either.

    199. UPDATE: Removed Southwest 50K offers. Anyone know of any still working ones?

    200. Laura: Thanks for alerting me to this. I updated the page with a better Hilton HHonors link. For the other problems, try browsing from a private session (Incognito window in Chrome) to see if that helps.

    202. Laura says:

Incognito worked for the Blue cash preferred- Thanks!

    203. DonT says:

Targeted blue cash no fee, but only 3% at grocery stores. Is this a downgraded version of the one you feature?

    204. DonT: Yes, the no fee BlueCash card has lesser perks

    205. UPDATE: Barclays’ Arrival World MasterCard is back and better than before. They now waive the first year $89 fee and they’ve upped the signup bonus to 40K. They still give 2X for all purchases and 10% back for redemptions. This has to be one of the best 2% back cards available so its great to see it with a nice signup bonus too!

    206. Cyclotron says:

I already had a Citi TY Preferred with the 5% bonus for drugstores and groceries. Today I applied for the TY Premier and another TY Preferred with the drugstore bonus using two different browsers. The TY Premier was approved instantly but the Preferred was declined. I then applied for the Citi HHonors Reserve card and that was also declined. I called Citi and was told that now they are processing only ONE application in a day and that is why my other two applications were declined. The rep said that I will have to apply again tomorrow for another app to be considered. Are there nay other reports of this?

If I apply again tomorrow then will this be two hits on the credit report or will the two hits get merged as they were only a day apart?

    207. Jesson says:

@Cyclotron: I strongly suggest you not do that, because citi does not allow two applications for personal cards within 60 days. If you apply different cards within such short time, it will be probably automatically declined.I once called the rep because I apply citi AA card and thank you preferred card in one month and my second application was declined, and the rep confirmed this.

    208. Cyclotron says:

Thanks for your input Jesson. I had called again and another rep also said that they will consider a second application after 60 days only.

So the two browser trick is dead for Citi for all personal cards and not just for AA cards …..

    209. Clyclotron: Yes, I discovered this on my big Million Mile Madness churn. Citi has shut down the ability to apply for more than one credit card per day.

    210. [...] you’re going to sign up for either of these cards, PLEASE visit the Frequent Miler. He has referral links and is very much deserving of your patronage. Thanks, [...]

    211. Doug says:

Hi–I really like your list, but is there a way you can cut down the size of this page?

Having all 219 (now 220!) comments to load and scroll through each time is not good. I know you said earlier you can’t put the newer comments on top, but can you “hide” earlier comments or create pages of 20, 30, 50? comments per page?

If none of the above are possible, perhaps it would be okay to purge comments after a certain date or just make a copy of this page with a link for people who want to jump to read the old comments, and you can start a fresh page?

Just something to consider…it is gettin’ really long!

      Thanks,

      Doug

    212. Doug: Thanks for the suggestions. The BoardingArea group tried reversing the order of the comments, but that didn’t work out well since the numbering was then all wrong so they put it back for me. Hopefully we can get something better someday!

    213. harry says:

great list and very well organized.

    214. Added Amex Business Gold Rewards 50K offer

    215. Noel says:

Is it possible to get the mastercard version of the Chase Freedom card if I already have the Visa? It would be great to have both and double up my bonus categories.

    216. Noel: No, I don’t think Chase would let you have both versions of the Freedom card at once.

    217. Carole says:

Will I still get 50,000 sign up bonus for Citi? There is no sign up bonus on their application.

    218. Carole: Yes many people (including myself) have successfully received the 50K miles despite the info not being listed on the signup page for the AA cards.

    219. Carole says:

Thanks. I’m going to go for it.

    220. Caroline says:

Marriott 70K offer won’t work for me.

    221. Caroline: When you say that the Marriott offer won’t work for you, what do you mean? What happens when you try it?

    222. ABC says:

I applied for the Citi ThankYou Preferred 5x card via your link a few weeks back. Card arrived but sadly only 1x for all categories (no 5x).

    223. Lacy says:

@ABC, you have to confirm the bonus by calling the representative directly.

    224. ABC: How do you know you are getting only 1x? I wouldn’t trust the phone reps if that’s what they told you. The only way I know of to find out for sure is to look at your billing statement once it arrives and see if you earned 4x bonus points (in addition to the 1x base points)

    225. ABC says:

I’ll let you know in a month.

    226. The Citi Preferred 5X link appears to be dead. Sorry everyone.

    227. The Amex Business Gold Rewards card offer is up to 75K!

I wonder if it’s time for my wife to sign up for a few cards…

    228. evthu says:

@FM: When I click the Amex Business Gold Rewards link, I am still only seeing 50k.

    229. Rats, you’re right. It seems to be targeted. If you are in a browser in which you’ve logged into Amex then you might see the 75K offer, otherwise I you’ll see the 50K offer.

    230. HansGolden says:

75k Amex Biz Gold: I tried all sorts of browsers. Finally it worked on my iPhone.

    231. HansGolden: Great! I’m glad that worked for you.

    232. Rama says:

Wish I had seen your link first. I applied through TPGs link assuming only he had the offer. Now Seeing that all bloggers have the same offer. I have learned a lot more from your posts than TPG. all the other bloggers are making a huge killing by promoting this offer all over their sites. Have to admire your commitment to not post referral posts despite a huge payday in case you had posted this

    233. The 75K Amex offer appears to be gone. Congrats to everyone who got in on it while it lasted!

    234. Restored Priority Club 80K link (to Flyertalk thread). It was broken for a while, but it seems to be back in action now.

    236. I’ve added a new 75K offer for the Amex Business Gold Rewards card, but it requires $10K spend in 4 months. I’ve also left up the older 50K offer (w/ $5K spend) for those who can’t spend $10K or don’t think its worth spending an additional $5K to get an additional 25K points.

    237. James says:

Where is the link for 80k Priority Club Points on Flyer Talk?

What are the 3 best cards right now with the lowest required minimum spend?

    238. James: The table at the top is for Chase cards and is divided into separate sections for Ultimate Rewards, Airlines, and Hotels. You’ll find the Priority Club info under hotels (or simply search from the top of the screen for “Priority Club”.

The three best cards with lowest required min spend (in my opinion are):
      1) Barclay’s US Airways card (35K bonus upon first use)
      2) United MileagePlus (55K bonus after $1K spend and add a second user). This offer can be hard to find, but you might find it at your local Chase branch.
      3) Barclay’s Arrival World MasterCard ($89 version — Free first year). Requires $1K spend for 40,000 points.

      Others of note:
      * Chase BA 50K after $1K spend
      * Chase hotel cards generally require $1K spend

FM: The link for the 75,000 business card offer from American Express goes to EBAY.

    241. Joe: Sorry about that. The 75K offer was only available on EBay (that’s why the link went there), but it appears to be gone now so I’ve now taken down that link. There is still a valid 50K offer for that card though
