Here is an annotated video panorama of the hotels in the San Francisco SoMa district around Moscone Convention Center. The video is shot from the 4th floor patio of the St. Regis San Francisco.

Starwood Hotels current Summer Sale for hotels in the Americas and Asia/Pacific regions will now expire on Monday, July 27 11:59pm EDT.
There are some good rates, but be selective. In the San Francisco Bay Area there are really low rates for most of the hotels outside the city. In general, these rates are as low as seen in 2009. In San Francisco the rates are on the low end, but typically not the lowest rates for these hotels in the past two months.
Main drawback is these limited time offer rates are nonrefundable.
Book by July 27 for stays through October 12, 2009.
