Hilton HHonors released a list of hotels increasing reward category on April 30, 2012. The HHonors list only lists hotel name ordered by hotel brand, and some hotels have only a partial name and some an incorrect name on the list.

Hilton HHonors members will likely find a list of hotels ordered by geographical location more useful.

Hilton HHonors released its list of hotels changing reward category on April 30, 2012. There are 330 hotels going up one category level. There are 117 hotels moving down one category.

HHonors has seven categories of hotels used to designate the hotel reward level for all Hilton brand hotels except Waldorf Astoria Hotels.

Category 6 and 7 hotels will receive 123 new hotels into the ranks of the top tiers. Only three hotels will drop in category with the Hilton Beverly Hills dropping to category 6 from category 7. Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing in Branson, Missouri drops from category 6 to category 5 as does Hilton Mumbai International Airport India.

‘Project Grow’ is the lobby refresh initiative for Hilton Garden Inn hotels to bring new color schemes and seating arrangements with updated floor and tile work to these commonly cookie-cutter properties.

Hilton brand Embassy Suites has a Facebook Sweepstakes running daily through February 28, 2013. Each day one person will win two certificates valid for one free night at any Embassy Suites worldwide. One of the certificates may even be gifted to a friend through a Facebook app.

Facebook sweepstakes is open to residents of USA (50 states + DC), Puerto Rico and Canada (excluding Quebec). You are allowed to enter one time per day.

Conrad Hotels is the Hilton hotel brand that has been slow to grow over the past decade. Yesterday the Conrad New York opened and brings the hotel brand up to four hotels in the USA or five including Puerto Rico. There are only 21 locations worldwide.

Gary Leff spouted off this morning about La Quinta Inns being an unsuitable hotel chain for the way he likes to travel. My god, they don’t even have room service!

And even though he has never slept at a La Quinta Inn, he implies the housekeeping staff does not clean the rooms to the same standard a guest will find at a full-service hotel chain like IHG, Hilton or Hyatt.

Yet, he has no problem being a member of La Quinta Returns loyalty program to collect free points.

Here is my rebuttal for you Gary and a reason to build your account balance beyond 300 points.

I feel compelled to issue a reality check based on the overwhelming pitch by bloggers for Starwood Preferred Guest being the primary program to consider when transferring hotel points for the US Airways points-to-miles 50% bonus from March 11-31, 2012.

Several travel blogs over the past 24 hours have discussed the US Airways hotel points transfer bonus promotion and most of the commentary suggests no other hotel program is worth considering besides SPG to get the best miles value from your hotel points. Read More…
