Carlson Rezidor Hotels Group launched a 3-day sale today for hotels in the US and Canada with 25% off standard rates for hotel stays through January 31, 2013 at Radisson, Country Inn and Park Inn.  This sale ends at 11:59PM (CT) Friday, January 18, 2013.

This is a short opportunity window for discount rates applicable for the Club Carlson triple points promotion running through March 15, 2013. Hotels I checked offered day of arrival cancellation with no penalty.

Last Friday night I stayed at the Radisson San Jose Airport, California on a $66 rate.

Yesterday I saw the Radisson free night is available in my account. When I search a hotel, the Radisson Hotels show a reward night available for 0 Gold Points.

Radisson Hotel Fisherman’s Wharf San Francisco for $200 (after tax) or I can stay for free using my Radisson promotion free night I earned from a $75 after tax stay hotel stay last week.

Radisson Hotels has a 3-day sale at 53 hotels in the USA and Canada ending tonight at 11:59pm Central Time Zone, Friday, October 12; about 9 hours from this post. The stay must be booked today and completed by October 31 for a 25% hotel rate savings.

I booked a cheap $66 rate (based on $88 regular rate) in San Jose to earn the Radisson free night promotion limited to 50,000 registrants. Even the free night registration link appears to still be available at the moment to get in on the free night deal as one of the first 50,000 to sign up.

The best feature of today’s sale is the rate I booked has flexible day before arrival penalty-free cancellation with no prepayment necessary.

Radisson has frequent sales and this 3-day sale is limited to just 53 hotels.

Still, it worked out well for me on a cheap stay in California with a bonus rebate of one free night at any Radisson in USA or Canada or Caribbean by December 31, 2013.

I am sure my $75 after tax rate for the Radisson in October will be rewarded nicely when I redeem the free night over the next 14 months.

Club Carlson has a B&B package rate at Radisson and Radisson Blu Hotels for two or four people. This package offers 2,000 bonus points per stay + Triple Goldpoints (60 points/$1).

Radisson B&B rates for this special rate offer are higher than other rates available. Some Radisson hotels provide inexpensive bonus points with this offer. For other Radisson hotels this deal should be avoided.

My general view is take this offer if the additional points earned with the 2K bonus and 60 points per dollar are earned at a rate less than $5 per 1,000 points. You can get $5 per 1,000 points redemption value easily with Points + Cash award rates at Carlson Rezidor Hotels, and probably $8 per 1,000 points or better.

Yesterday Hyatt released an “up to 30%” 48 hour sale rate discount with no list of participating hotels. I tried a dozen searches across several cities and never found a participating Hyatt Hotel offering the rate discount.
