Swiss is offering passengers traveling on Ski Holidays the opportunity to travel with their equipment at no additional charge. Not only do you get your first checked bag for free, you can also check your Ski equipment for free as well. Your ski equipment can include a pair of skis or a snowboard, poles, boots, helmet and a pair of boots.
In addition to this benefit, passengers travelling on SWISS can use “FLY RAIL” and have their Ski equipment checked through all the way to their final Ski Resort destination if traveling by rail or bus to the resort once you arrive in Switzerland. “FLY RAIL” is a fantastic program since you will not have to handle your bulky ski equipment and luggage in a Swiss airport. You can simply board your train or bus and your luggage will follow behind you.
There is a small cost involved for using the FLY RAIL service, and discounts apply for First Class, Senator/HON members, Business Class and Frequent Traveler passengers:
FIRST CLASS, SENATOR / HON — FREE OF CHARGE
BUSINESS CLASS / FREQUENT TRAVELER — CHF12 PER PIECE OF LUGGAGE (CHF 10 Discount off of normal fee)
ECONOMY CLASS — CHF22 (which is the normal FLY RAIL FEE)

Is “Ski Holidays” a special booking or does it simply there’s no charge for ski equipment, regardless of booking?
One other question…does booking the skis for free take up the 1 free bag allowance (when flying economy US to Europe)and result in a second bag charge for a suitcase?
It’s not a special package. Any passenger any class gets skis checked for free on lx flights. The rail package has a small cost involved
@wolfgang. This is in addition to the free back you get to check when flying economy
