Lufthansa has started a brief Business Class Fare sale that ends on February 4. As with past Business Class fare sales, savings amount to about 40-50% when compared to a “regularly” priced Business Class ticket.

From New York to most destinations in Europe, the fares range from $2800 to $3000. From Chicago, fares range from $3200 to $3400 and from San Francisco, $3700 to $3900. These fares are a bit higher than usual for a Business Class sale, but with cost of fuel and inflation in general seem to be appropriate.

Terms and Conditions of the offer:

Tickets must be purchased by February 4, 2013
You must depart between March 24 and April 5, 2013
You must return between March 31 and April 10.
Advance Purchase: 28 days.
Flights can be operated by Air Canada, Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian or United.
Saturday night stay is required.

If you are going to book a ticket, please be mindful of the carrier who will operate the flight. I suggest you make sure that Lufthansa, Swiss or Austrian are going to be your carriers!

AND with a little of planning, you could find yourself aboard Lufthansa’s 747-8i or certain Airbus A330 that have the new Business Class interior installed!!

Swiss is running a brief fare sale until 22 January for travel between Germany and the USA. The travel period for these fares is from 21 January to 23 June.

Fares are typical of a normal sale. Examples range from €520 from Hamburg to Boston, €540 for Munich to New York and €718 for Stuttgart to San Francisco.

The fare sale applies to departures from the following German cities: Frankfurt, Munich, Dresden, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Hanover and Bremen. Most flights are operated by Swiss or Lufthansa from Germany to Switzerland, while nearly every flight to the US is operated by Swiss.

Keep in mind as with most fare sales, the miles earned are usually 50% of the actual miles flown when purchasing the lowest economy class fares.

Throughout the year, germanwings has occasionally offered “Blind Booking” deals for travel within it’s network. What I like about the promo is it’s element of surprise. You actually do not know your destination until you complete the booking process and pay for your fare. If you’re having trouble deciding where to go, a promo like this is perfect!

You do have the option to choose the theme of your trip, which includes “PARTY”, “SHOPPING”, “CULTURE”, “GAY FRIENDLY”, “SNOW & SKI” and “METROPLIS WESTERN EUROPE”. Within each of these themes, there is a list of cities that germanwings feels fits the theme and it will be one of those cities that you will be ticketed to for you trip. You are able to de-select half of the available cities for each theme if you want to really avoid a certain destination (perhaps an outstanding warrant is waiting for you somewhere??).

For this promotion you can travel between 1 January and 13 February and it does not appear that there are any minimum or maximum stay requirements. Fares start from €33 per segment and there are small surcharges for choosing seats on-line and for checked baggage.

Brussels Airlines is currently having a fare sale on their Intra-European routes where you can find savings of up to 30%. The fare sale is in place until January 7. Travel must take place between 1 January and 30 April, 2013. Keep in mind that the discount applies to the base fare only. Taxes and fees are not “discountable”.

AUSTRIAN just announced that BOLOGNA, ITALY is their fare special for this week.

For flights departing Vienna, the fare is only €119 (Roundtrip) while departures from Salzburg, Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt and Linz are approximately €70 more.

The fare is valid for bookings made between 16 and 23 November and travel must occur between 1 December and 31 January, 2013. A minimum of a Saturday night or 3 night stay is required for the fare.
