Lucky posts about a 25,000 Delta Skymiles bonus for a $500 spend at SkyMall today only.
Go to www.skymall.com/25000.
I did some searching to find something that I could buy and then resell on ebay.
The closest I came was this camera that’s going for about $150.
You could always buy 6 of these beauties that are a steal at $90 a piece and get an early jump on those Halloween decorations.

Unbelievable!
I just received my Priority Club Crack the Case offer – for 310,000 points.
The hurdles are also low.
1) Stay 20 nights
2) Stay at 3 Brands
3) Stay 2 Saturdays
4) Take a Survey
5) Get a Priority Club Visa
This will definitely be a promotion that I will be taking part in.
I love the creativity of the Priority Club marketing group. Last year they had the brilliant Hilton devaluation promotion. This promotion is a little more involved, but the bonus offered makes it worth it to go through all of the steps to earn the bonus.
My kids got their promotion offers, but for 200,000 and 180,000.

As I wrote about back in June, we will be going to the Hilton Condrad Maldives for an award stay next year. I’ve read a lot about the resort online – including stories about the unique underwater restaurant they have there.
To commemorate their fifth year anniversary, the Maldives is swapping out the restaurant for a honeymoon suite. You must book the suite fourteen days in advance by contacting the hotel directly.
While certainly a once in a lifetime experience, I can’t imagine how much they are going to charge for the privilege of staying there. Insert your Soprano – “sleeping with the fishes” joke here.
The bigger question is – is there a way to get the Diamond upgrade to the fish suite?

To commemorate Stieg Larsson’s film “The girl who played with fire”, there is a contest to win a trip to Sweden.
Entries close on October 1, 2010. The Grand Prize includes airfare on Scandinavian Airlines, hotel stay at Sheraton Stockholm, and Stockholm passes.
Sweden is one of my favorite places as I have vacationed and worked in Stockholm. The majority of Swedes speak fantastic English. Stockholm is really gorgeous in the summer time.
One of the major exports from Sweden is music. If you think of all the bands that have hailed from Sweden: ABBA, Roxette, Ace of Base,The Cardigans, Peter Bjorn and John and perhaps some that you haven’t heard of like Dungen, Bob Hund, Popsicle, the Sounds, and the Radio Dept.
One of my favorite bands from Sweden is Bob Hund. Bob Hund hail from the south of Sweden, referred to as Skåne. Those from Skåne have a very different dialect, similar to the Texas drawl.
Here is one of my favorite songs from them called “Istället för musik, förvirring (Instead of music, confusion)”.

Most of the day was spent doing business. That night I was invited to attend one of business colleague’s niece’s birthday party. We were driven up into the mountains to a beautiful restaurant. The tables were laid out outside.
There was plenty of drinking and plenty of food. A couple of the people there spoke some basic English. The rest of them spoke Russian and Kazakh. I started to ask through the translator what some of the food being passed my way was. There was a lot of horse dishes coming my way. Horse doesn’t really taste that bad. I wonder if horses are categorized like steaks. For example, is a thoroughbred a filet mignon? Is the pony like a hamburger?
At one point, they asked me to give a toast to the 16 year old. Having known her for all of 5 minutes, I wished her the best in her endeavors and complimented on her intellect.
After drinking too much soda, it was time to find the facilities. As I approached the outdoor restroom, I was surprised to find Japanese style squat toilets. A fancy restaurant like this with these kind of toilets? It was not the time to try and experiment so I just gave up.
As we were being driven back to the Holiday Inn we received another call from another business associate who invited us to join them at an Uzbek restaurant. I wanted to be polite and so we accepted though I was completely stuffed.
We arrived at the Uzbek restaurant that was quite ornate on the outside. It looked like a building straight out of the animated film Aladdin. We went inside and sat down at the table.
I had made the wrong choice filling up on horse meat. The Uzbek restaurant had all kinds of meats like lamb shashlik and plov and traditional dumplings called parmuda. It looked and smelled great. I took a couple of bites of the shashlik, it was so tender and seasoned so well. I will definitely return to the Uzbek restaurant if I come back to Almaty.

I posted here about my recent complaint about having to pay the $20 per ticket booking fee in order to book an infant in lap.
I’m happy to report that Delta stepped up to the plate. Susan from Delta left a comment on the post stating that I should not have been charged the direct ticketing fee and to contact @DeltaAssist on Twitter to get it resolved.
I did that and within 48 hours, I was credited for the $20 direct booking fees and Jeanette from Delta called our house to make sure everything was done. Kudos to Delta for making it right!

I wrote about TopGuest.com partnering with Priority Club to offer 50 priority club points per day for checking in to a Priority Club property via Foursquare, Gowalla, or Twitter.
I just hit my 20th consecutive day of doing this which means I’ve earned 1000 points so far. And as Gary wrote it’s going to take a long time to earn enough points for a reward stay but it’s so easy and takes about five seconds per day.

Today I booked my next international trip. I used ITA Software to find the best flights and best price for me.
I went to Delta’s site to book the flight and could not find anywhere on the site to purchase a infant in lap ticket.
I called Delta and asked them how I can purchase this online. They informed me that unfortunately there was no way to purchase it online. I then asked if they would waive the $20 phone agent ticketing fee since there was no way to book online. They declined my request. 3 tickets and $60 later, I’m all booked and angry.
Is this just a Delta phenomenon or do other carriers do the same?
