UPDATED: stack the 30% Membership Rewards bonus with the 50% first time transfer bonus

Posted on: January 25th, 2011 by: jason

As I wrote about here, you can earn 50% bonus when you transfer Membership Rewards points to Delta Airlines and 25,000 MQMs if you transfer at least 50,000 points. There is also a 30% transfer bonus out there for transferring Membership Rewards points and it has been confirmed that these are stackable.

Do the following:
1. Register for the 50% transfer bonus for first time transfers.
2. Register for the 30% transfer bonus.
3. Make sure the promotion shows up here
3. Sign up for Platinum American Express Card (you may need to clear cookies to see the bonus offer of 50,000 for $1k spend)
4. Add your Delta Skymiles account to your Membership Rewards profile after approval.
5. American Express will let you borrow the 50,000 Membership Rewards immediately.
6. Transfer the 50,000 to your Delta account.
7. Spend $1k on the card.

Final tally:
$450 membership fee
Free lounge access
25,000 MQMs and Silver Status for two years
$200 incidental credit (for airline fees) on your favorite airline
90,000 Skymiles

30% Delta Skymiles bonus when transferring American Express Membership Rewards

Posted on: January 19th, 2011 by: jason

Delta is offering a 30% Delta Skymiles bonus when you transfer American Express Membership Rewards points before March 31, 2011.

This offer isn’t nearly as lucrative as the 4th quarter 2010 promotion of a 50% Skymiles bonus, plus 25000 MQMs for a 50,000 points transfer – but if you need to top off an account, this offer might be for you.

Delta Suntrust Bank deal is almost done

Posted on: December 1st, 2010 by: jason

If you’re planning on getting Delta Skymiles for opening up Suntrust Bank accounts, you’ll need to hurry.

Frugal Travel Guy has done a ton of work to make this deal very smooth.

Today I called Megan at Suntrust at 843-341-3101 and the process could not have been easier.

To recap:
Each Business Debit card is $55 for 25000 miles, and the Personal Debit card is $20 for 7500 miles or $55 for 15000 miles.

You can add four additional users to the Business account for $55 each for 25000 additional miles per user.

The minimum funding amount for the Business account is $1000 (there is a $10 fee if you fall below this amount per month). The Personal account is $100.

The Sky miles will post to your account within 6-8 weeks after your first Signature purchase.

Total cost for me will be $330 for 140,000 Delta Skymiles.

1,200 Delta Skymiles for purchase of Bose QC15 headphones

Posted on: November 3rd, 2010 by: jason

On the surface, buying $300 headphones for 1200 Delta Skymiles isn’t a very good value unless you’re already in the market for the headphones.

However, looking at the Terms and Conditions, you can set up interest free payment for a year for the headphones and get a 30 day trial.

If you’re not satisfied, you can simply return the headphones and keep the miles.

I’m too cheap to splurge myself but am always jealous when I see others in first class wearing them.

If you want to take advantage of this offer, order them by December 31, 2010 to earn the 1,200 miles at www.Bose.com/ord167 or by calling 1-800-611-5031.

From the Home Depot T&C

The world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer and the second largest retailer in the United States.

Eligible on the purchase of gift cards. Not eligible on purchases made to buy a gift card using a gift card.

10,000 Delta Skymiles with checking account

Posted on: April 13th, 2010 by: jason

SunTrust is giving away 10,000 Delta Skymiles for opening up a checking account with them. It will cost you $55 for your Platinum check card.

While not as lucrative as the 15,000 Delta Skymiles offer from last year, it may be worthwhile if you’re a Delta flier.

The terms and conditions state that you must be a resident of AL, AR, FL, GA, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV, and DC. However, a reader indicated that they were able to sign up for the deal without residing in one of those states. YMMV.
