A quick way to get your points on credit cards

Posted on: May 20th, 2012 by: jason

Recently I participated in the (perhaps) targeted 1000 Free Priority Club points offer. At the end of the video, a credit card offer was given for 80,000 Priority Club points. I did the same video for my wife and her offer was for 60,000 Priority Club points.

80,000 points were too good to pass up, so I went ahead and applied for the card and was approved. There was no annual fee the first year and no minimum spend either.

When the card arrived, I called customer service to activate my card. One of the perhaps overlooked benefits is that you can set your own billing date if you ask them. I set my billing date to three days from the time I activated my card. As soon as I hung up the phone, I went online and made a purchase.

Three days later my billing date hit and just like that, 80000 points were in my account. I know that most cards today have minimum spends, but for those that don’t – this is a quick way to get your points!

Priority Club launches the “Win it in a Minute” contest

Posted on: January 24th, 2011 by: jason

I must say that Priority Club does some very interesting promotions.

Their latest one is called “Win it in a Minute” where you have to answer five questions in less than 12 seconds each. The 50 people with the fastest times each day will win 5,000 Priority Club points. The top 100 cumulative scores each week will win 15,000 Priority Club points.

This is another brilliant marketing program by Priority Club in the same vein as “Crack the Case”. “Luckiest Loser”, and “Priority Club Challenge”.

My crack the case offer from Priority Club isn’t as sweet as I thought

Posted on: September 1st, 2010 by: jason

I was pretty excited when the mailer came two days ago from Priority Club about the Crack the Case offer of 310,000 points.

I quickly took the survey to fulfill one of the five challenges.

As I was reading through the rest of it, I discovered that my offer is actually terrible.

The Priority Club Visa offer is the following

EARN 43,000 BONUS POINTS AFTER YOU EARN 197,000 POINTS WITH YOUR PRIORITY CLUB VISA CARD

Your latest assignment? Unlock this latch by earning 197,000 points with your Priority Club Visa Card before May 31, 2011. Charge eligible gas, groceries, hotels and more on your card and see the points add up. When you’ve earned 197,000 points by using your card, you’ll get 43,000 more bonus points from completing this task.

Remember, you earn points with every purchase you make!

Uh, ok. So my 310,000 points consists of earning 197,000 points before May 31st? Do they expect me to purchase a house on my Priority Club Visa? 6 Toyota Camrys?

I guess I should have realized that the offer would be too good to be true. I should have known as a PC Platinum / Ambassador that the threshold would be a little higher. Perhaps it’s time to enlist the help of Mr. Pickles on how to order $200,000 worth of coins.

Both of my kid’s offers consisted of earning 10,000 Priority Club points for simply opting in to email communication by providing their email addresses – so the promotion wasn’t a total loss.

Feel free to hit the comment button if you can thinking of anything I can buy for $200,000 and resell on Ebay.

My Priority Club Crack the Case offer – 310,000 points

Posted on: August 30th, 2010 by: jason

Unbelievable!

I just received my Priority Club Crack the Case offer – for 310,000 points.

The hurdles are also low.

1) Stay 20 nights
2) Stay at 3 Brands
3) Stay 2 Saturdays
4) Take a Survey
5) Get a Priority Club Visa

This will definitely be a promotion that I will be taking part in.

I love the creativity of the Priority Club marketing group. Last year they had the brilliant Hilton devaluation promotion. This promotion is a little more involved, but the bonus offered makes it worth it to go through all of the steps to earn the bonus.

My kids got their promotion offers, but for 200,000 and 180,000.

25000 Priority Club points for Directv sign up

Posted on: May 2nd, 2010 by: jason

Priority Club has sweetened their offer of points for signing up with Directv from 15,000 to 25,000 and up to 50% off for the first year.

The deadline is May 31, 2010.

I took advantage of this deal back when it was a 15,000 point offer. I had a bear of a time getting the points though as there was not a spot to enter in my Priority Club number during sign-up.

This probably has been fixed by now but I would recommend printing the offer and your final confirmation page as backup.

Luckiest Loser contest

Posted on: March 30th, 2010 by: jason

Priority Club recently had a contest to determine who the “Luckiest Loser” is – that is, the person with the highest amount of Hilton Honors points.

Due to the recent devaluation of Hilton points for redemptions, Priority Club decided to make a contest of it.

In order to participate, you had to send in a copy of your recent Hilton statement. It was a brilliant contest as Priority Club now has the information of some of the highest Hilton Honors participants.

The person with the highest point balance won 2 million Priority Club points.

Priority Club gave away 20,000 Priority Club points to each of the next 20,000 people who had the highest balances.

Luckily, I was one of the 20,000 chosen few and received 20,000 Priority Club points.

1000 Free Priority Club points

Posted on: February 8th, 2010 by: jason

Priority Club has decided to highlight the recent point devaluation by Hilton Honors.

They are offering a contest to give 20% of your Hilton Honors balance in the form of Priority Club points to the top 20,000 people, up to 20,000 points.

The best part is that you can earn 1000 Free Priority Club points just for entering even if you have 0 Hilton points.

I’m sitting at 230,000 points which should put me in the top 20,000.

The best way to track your frequent flier miles

Posted on: January 25th, 2010 by: jason

With all of the programs out there, it oftentimes can get confusing keeping track of all the programs. Especially the ones that are seldom used.

I’ve done quite a bit of research on the easiest ways to keep track of all of your miles and points.

My new favorite website is Award Wallet. You can add all of your frequent flyer numbers and accounts and it will send you emails with your balances. The best part is that it will also tell you your expiration dates as well.

You can also enter in your whole family to track their accounts as well.

I spent this afternoon submitting everyone’s numbers in. Here are our balances:

My Delta 250,000
My American Airlines 200,000
My HIlton 200,000
My Priority Club 260,000
My Marriott 120,000
Both of my kids Delta accounts: 20,000 each
My wife’s Delta account: 40,000
My wife’s American Airlines account 200,000
We’re also in the midst of earning enough points with British Airways to fly anywhere in the world in first class.

The point of this is not to brag, but just to show what flexibility I’ll have for our next trip(s).

We’ll have Marriott, Hilton, and Priority Club properties to choose from and three airlines to get the best tickets on.

While it certainly helps that I travel quite a bit, I also take advantage of every offer I can to earn more miles. I’ve switch to DirecTV, opened up bank accounts, and bought gold coins all for the sake of miles.
