I previously posted about reports of this new card from American Express. The application is now live on the American Express website. Click here.
I won’t detail all of the benefits of this card, but suffice it to say that it offers what I feel to be a compelling benefits package including a complimentary membership in Priority Pass, and of course, complimentary Gold VIP membership in Hilton HHonors for the first year.

The Priority Pass feature allows you to buy access for $27 per visit, as I understand it.
Thanks for stopping by Oliver!
You are correct. What’s received is the $99 dollar per year PP membership. You gain access to the lounges, but it’s $27 dollars per guest, per visit. Priority Pass is still a handy lounge backup card to carry in many cases in my opinion. Getting it for the cost of the $75 dollar annual fee on this card is not a bad deal for many people.
Agree with you Marshall, especially since I didn’t know about the Priority Pass feature until I read your post (somehow this was either added recently or I had just missed the mention of it in the Flyertalk thread). I would have gotten the Surplus (sic) card even without that feature. However, I’ll wait ’til the end of the year when my BD Gold status (free access to UA/US lounges) and HHonors Gold status expire.
