Always seems like there is tons of action in the points world in the middle of the week!  Guess that makes sense.  Anyway, here are some mini-points to recap some of the top points and travel happenings from today in case you have been too busy working, driving back and forth from daycare, cooking dinner, etc…. to keep up.  Wait, that’s our life!

  • The fantastic Southwest Airlines Chase credit card sign-up bonus that gives you 50,000 points (aka $833 in Wanna Get Away Fares) for just making a single purchase and paying the $99 annual fee is set to expire on August 7th.  If Southwest is a convenient airline for you, you really don’t want to miss out on this offer!  Read more about the deal here.
  • If you have any interest in visiting Denver, now may be the time to book.  I am SO tempted to buy a $118 round-trip Houston to Denver fare on Continental.  Dates are good into December on that route.  Little C needs to see snow in Colorado!  There are great fares from different cities all over the country due to an awesome Frontier airlines sale.  Some other airlines are matching, so check your favorite airline to see if they are participating!  Here is a fare chart from Frontier Airline’s website.  The sale is scheduled to end tonight (Aug 3rd).  Tempting!

  • The 250 SPG points from “liking” the Aloft Austin at the Domain (read more here) posted into my account today.  If you participated in that promotion, keep an eye on your account for the points!
  • British Airways is offering 50% off mileage redemption for flights operated by them if you book by August 12th.  This might be targeted, so it may or may not work for you.  There are a few restrictions, but it is worth checking out if you are considering using miles to fly on British Airways!  Get more info from Deals We Like and The Points Guy (thanks!).

My SPG points posted too! I had forgot about them and had to view the detail and think hard to remember what they were for.

Glad yours posted, too. Kind of fun when you forget about points and then they appear!

Trying to get in contact with you but the link on your Contact Me doesn’t seem to work. You should get a Twitter and/or FB page!

Sorry, not sure what happened there. Got it fixed for now! You can shoot me an email at mommypoints@hotmail.com – as for Twitter and FB, they are in the works. I plan to post that info (and a contest!) next week. :)
