I know that 98% of this blog is about travel, but today it is about being home. I was gone from home for two nights/three days recently for the fantastic Chicago Seminars, and I am on the road again for three more nights in a couple days to head to BlogWorld in LA. Trust me, I know it is a bit nerdy that I am going to a blog conference!… Read the Rest.

We are now into Week 5 of the current Southwest promo and it is time to earn another 100 Southwest Rapid Reward points. It is also time for me to admit that even though I had been emailed the answers (thanks DGF), I still missed my first questions by accident! Do better than me! If you are new to this promotion, check out out Week 1, Week 2, Week 3,… Read the Rest.

Holy moly, this is a great sale if you happen to want to travel on one of the routes on sale. For example, you can fly Houston Hobby to Kansas City for $18 each way if you purchase on 10/31 and fly before 12/15. You can also fly from Milwaukee to Omaha for $18 each way – “all in”! Check out Frontier’s website for more info or potential routes! For… Read the Rest.

Choice Hotels was recently added as an American Express transfer partner. Presumably to get people interested in transferring their Amex Membership Rewards points to the Choice Program, they are offering a 50% transfer bonus through November 6th. With the 50% bonus, 1,000 Membership Reward points becomes 1,500 Choice Hotel points. It’s still not the best deal ever since you can routinely buy 1,000 Choice points directly from Choice for only… Read the Rest.

Update: The autographed t-shirt winner is Elizabeth! Thanks so much for supporting the Dream Foundation! I just returned home after a very full weekend at the Chicago Seminars. It was quite an experience – from hanging out with amazingly knowledgeable Flyertalk/Milepointers, to talking with Tom Stuker (United’s famous 10 million mile flyer), to eating dinner with some of my favorite bloggers/good friends, it was a very worthwhile weekend. Oh yeah,… Read the Rest.

Update: Shirts are all claimed! Will email the winners soon. I have been at the Chicago Seminars hearing from some of the best miles and points collectors. While the speakers have all been great – the informal chats with other attendees in-between sessions has been equally as valuable. Just today I learned things from Lucky @ One Mile at a Time about maximizing Starwood points, Gleff @ View From the… Read the Rest.

For the next installment in my “Traveling with a Toddler” series, I wanted to up the ante by interviewing my friend who travels with her twin toddlers! I shudder in fear at the thought… Ha ha, actually her twins are adorable and she is a rock-star mommy. Her twins are just a few months older than Little C, so I have enjoyed hearing stories about them ever since they were… Read the Rest.

I had the hardest time deciding what to post about tonight, because there are so many different things going on that I wanted to share, so I decided to just do some little updates on different topics instead of actually having to pick just one. Well, and I couldn’t find a five-sided coin to flip… OneWorld MegaDO: I know this has been un-affectionately dubbed “MegaDON’T” by some due to… Read the Rest.

Update: Holy smokes, this event sold out within 23 minutes of opening for public booking! Congrats to those who are coming and fingers crossed for a good spot on the waiting list (once it gets rolling – keep watching megado.com and Milepoint for those updates!) for those who aren’t quite as lucky. Everyone can now go and reserve their seat on the first OneWorld MegaDO! There is still some pretty… Read the Rest.

As I have mentioned before, I come from a very holiday-centered family. While we love all of the usual Americanized holidays, Christmas is the time that we go “all out”. As children, all of the cousins had so much fun playing together on Christmas, and even though we are all spread out around the country with our own children now, that doesn’t stop us from reuniting to celebrate with the… Read the Rest.
