There is still “word art” available for $10, but that puts the cost per mile out of the great range, unless you actually want some word art, and then it is again a good deal. US Airways Daily Deal has been around for a while, but today it has a deal worth mentioning. The deal is $4 for Scholastic Parent & Child Magazine. While that magazine may appeal to some families on this site, what makes the deal good is that the first purchase with Daily Deals gets you 500 US Airways miles. For $4 that comes to less than a cent per mile – .8 cents to be exact, then “as a bonus”, you get the magazine (which it seems you have to activate – it doesn’t come automatically). As was pointed out in the comments, technically you get 520 miles as you get 5 per dollar for the $4 purchase, so even better, ha ha. I value my US Airways miles at about double that, so it makes sense for me to get in on this – your valuation may be different. To make it even sweeter, you can then refer others and get 500 miles for each referral once they make a purchase. Not bad!

Well, today was a great day-thanks in part to million mile secrets who I found quite by accident in October and learned about US air’s grand slam, he in turned got me hooked on mommypoints. You have both taught me so much! I was able to get in on the US deal today(520pts) and I used my Priority Points cc that I got in the mail yesterday to charge the $4 dollar fee(to get 60,000 pts) and I get home today and in the mail-yup-my companion pass from Southwest. Oh and my son’s high school team beat their rivals in baseball and handed them their first loss. I had to throw that in! LOL Thanks for EVERYTHING!
Whats the big deal here ? I check your blog at 9 am, then again at noon, and miss out. I guess we are supposed to just sit at our computers and hit refresh all day long, in case a mere 500 point deal comes along? Screw that….
