AirTran is having a one-day sale today, so I thought I would pass that info along in case there is a route discounted that might be of use to someone. I didn’t see any “OMG” prices, but there are some discounted prices available for some city pairs. As an example, from Houston, it seems that round trips to Branson ($106) and Washington Reagan ($236) were pretty decent deals. Some of the other routes didn’t really appear to be any less expensive than they normally are.
Here are some details about the one-day sale:
- Purchase by September 7, 2012, 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
- Travel October 23 through November 14, 2012.
You can check to see if your city has any discounted fares that might be useful in your travels here. Keep in mind that the prices displayed are for one-way travel, so don’t get too excited at first thinking you are seeing RT fares.
Just like with Southwest, if the fare for your itinerary drops with AirTran you can request a credit to use on a future flight, so double check any existing reservations during the October 23rd through November 14th time frame to see if you can get a credit!

Thanks for the heads-up! I just called AirTran and got a $68 credit for the difference between my itinerary and the sale fair…it’s not much, but I’ll take it!
