There are two promotions in the Club Carlson family of hotels that I want to be sure you are aware of. The first involves paid stays at Country Inn and Suites and the second involves a current 50% bonus on purchased Club Carlson points.
Country Inn & Suites Stay Two Nights Get a Free Night:
This promotion is geared for business travelers who stay at a Country Inn and Suites for work during the week (Sun – Thurs night) on a stay that is two nights or longer between October 1st and November 29th. After completing the eligible stay, an email will be sent with instructions on how to obtain a reward certificate for a free night to use for a one-night stay between December 15, 2012 and February 15, 2013 at any Country Inns & Suites in the U.S. or Canada. You have to stay on a Free Night Fall rate for the stay to be eligible. As always, compare all rates to make sure you are getting the best overall deal. I prefer promotions that award bonus points that can be used whenever and wherever you wish, but for families who have Country Inn & Suites stays in their future this promotion could be useful.
You can read all of the terms and conditions related to this promotion here.
Club Carlson 50% Bonus on Purchased Points = Night at Hotel Near Disney for $42/night
I have been meaning to write about the 50% bonus on purchased Club Carlson points for a while now, but an email I received today from a reader (who writes the blog Rhonda’s Buzz) was enough to push me to do so. You can purchase 1,000 Club Carlson points for the regular price of $7, but then you will receive a 50% bonus on the points purchased until November 10th. There is a max of 40,000 points purchased in a year, but the 50% bonus does not count toward that limit.
I’m generally not a huge fan of purchasing points without a specific redemption in mind, but this promotion could be valuable if your family is eying a trip to somewhere that has a Category 1 Club Carlson property, like Disney World. The Radisson Resort Orlando – Celebration is located about 1.5 miles from Disney World, has several pools, and has complimentary transportation to the Disney parks. Best of all, it is just 9,000 Club Carlson points per night. Many of us have lots of Club Carlson points for the Big Night Giveaway promos, but if you weren’t able to get in on those promos, or have used all of your points then this 50% bonus is a way to still get into that hotel for a very low price.
You can purchase 6,000 points for $42 and then receive 3,000 points as a bonus. That means that each night on points at the Radisson Resort Orlando will cost you just $42 per night. Some random searches revealed nights close to $100 per night at that hotel, so this is a major discount over that rate. Do keep in mind that this property has a resort fee of around $12 per night.
The same principles of this deal would work at any of the other 40+ Category 1 properties. If none of the properties on that list meet your needs, then Category 2 hotels that would run $70 using this deal (purchasing 10,000 points and receiving 5,000 points as a bonus). That may or may not beat the going rate for a given hotel, but at least you know you have the option of spending $42 for a Category 1 or $70 for a Category 2 hotel if there is points availability.
Thanks again for Rhonda for sending the info about the Radisson Resort Orlando!
