This isn’t earth shattering news regarding the current Radisson promotions, but it is always reassuring when a promo works as intended. A little over a week ago, my husband checked into the Radisson O’Hare while we were at the Chicago Seminars in order to earn a free night via the current “Stay One Night, Get One Night” promotion. As the name implies, if you stay one night (on a qualifying paid rate), then you get a night to use in the future for free. You must first register for the promotion, and then book a night at a Radisson in the US, Canada, or the Caribbean by October 31st for travel through the end of the year. Your free night can then be used through December 31, 2013 at a Radisson in the US, Canada, or the Caribbean.
We were able to use the Club Carlson “Best Rate Guarantee” to secure a night for around $60. You can read more about how the “Best Rate Guarantee” works in this post, but it is a great way to turn this good deal into a great deal. We didn’t actually need to stay at the Radisson that night as we were having a fancy-schmancy date night at the Park Hyatt Chicago for the evening, but it made sense to pay the $60ish dollars in order to secure a free night that we will use at a hotel that will likely go for $200 or up.
Clearly it is a better deal if you actually need a hotel night at a Radisson this year, but even if you don’t, it may be a good promotion to cash in on at an inexpensive hotel in order to use your free night at a more expensive Radisson.
His free night posted within a couple of business days after we checked out. To use your free night, search for a hotel as you normally would on the Radisson website, and then you will see a rate of 0 points if there is standard reward availability once your free night posts. I was thrown off at first as the “0 points” rate will only appear at Radisson or Radisson Blu hotels (not Country Inn & Suites, Park Inn, etc.), so don’t be shocked when the 0 points rate isn’t available at all Club Carlson hotels listed that aren’t Radisson Hotels.
If you want to make an award booking using the full number of points (and save your 0 points night for a later date), then click on “View All Rates and Packages” and you should see that option.
Thanks to Club Carlson for a promo that worked efficiently and effectively for us! How has the promo gone for you? Where did you get a good rate, and how much was it? Where do you plan to redeem your free night?
