A few days ago I outlined some of the best opportunities for earning miles and points for online Black Friday shopping, but now that Black Friday is here some even better deals have appeared! Sadly my kiddo is keeping me way too busy to make as comprehensive of a list as I would like today, but here are some examples of the improved rates (note that some of the United shopping rates will be lower if you don’t have a United credit card):
- Best Buy – 3x at United MileagePlus Shopping (up from just 1x and remember to sync your Amex card to get $20 off a $200 purchase)
- Drugstore.com – 9x United MileagePlus Shopping
- Home Depot – 6x United MileagePlus Shopping
- Lands End – 8x United MileagePlus Shopping
- Home Depot – 6x United MileagePlus Shopping
- Magazines.com – 40x United MileagePlus Shopping
- Overstock.com – 6x United MileagePlus Shopping
- Sears.com – 9x US Airways Dividend Miles Storefront
- Macys.com – 6x US Airways Dividend Miles Storefront and United MileagePlus Shopping
There is no one best portal for retailers right now. You really have to manually shop around to find the best points deals. Remember to also keep in mind these shopping portal promotions.
Shopping Portal Bonuses:
United MileagePlus Shopping: Get 500 bonus miles for every $250 you spend through 12/31 up to 2,500 bonus miles
US Airways DividendMiles Storefront: Get 300 bonus miles for spending $150, 500 bonus miles for spending $250, and 1,000 bonus miles for spending $500 through 12/31. Max number of bonus miles is 1,000.
American Airlines AAdvantage e-Shopping: Get 500 bonus miles for every $250 you spend from November 18, 2012 to December 17, 2012. Max number of bonus miles is 2,000.
Delta SkyMiles Shopping: Get 250 bonus miles for every $125 spent through 11/22/12 up to a max of 2,500 bonus miles.
What other points deals have you come across? I’ve been having tons of fun stacking great deals with points earnings – I’d love to hear some of your success stories!

Ugh. I bought $500 worth of stuff through United last night. Lesson learned for next year.
I would add, Wait Until CyberMonday !
It could get even better by Monday. I’m not betting on it, but I’m all for it!
If you’re buying from Best Buy, don’t forget to sign up for Reward Zone through them. For every $250 you spend you get $5 voucher.
Also..if you or your kids have an XBOX and XBOX live you can sync your AMEX with XBOX live and get a $10 statement credit plus if they have Halo 4 you get another $25 statement credit and $50 off $100 Best Buy purchase on top of the $20 off $200 statement credit.
Sky, thanks!
Looks like I need to buy an xbox
Can we still double dip at Magazines.com – 40x United MileagePlus Shopping?
@Duc, I haven’t heard of any recent successful double dips there, but I also haven’t tried myself. Could be worth a shot even if it is unlikely.
I got Officemax 6x United Mileageplus Shopping today
Don’t forget Kohl’s 10x through the Ultimate Rewards shopping mall, which stacks with the current Q4 5x UR point bonus with the Freedom card. Total of 15x + $15 Kohl’s cash per $50 of spend works out to a phenomenal deal. That means $1,500 spent at Kohl’s will net you 22,500 UR points (which I value at $450) + $450 Kohl’s cash. Once you factor that in, you just paid $600 for $1,500 worth of items!
Be careful with Magazines.com as they auto-renew your subscriptions. You have to physically call in to cancel.
Thanks MP, got an extra mile/$ because your post alerted me to go through United instead of UR mall for my Home Depot purchase. Will grill an extra shrimp skewer for ya when I get my bbq!
@Sky, if you have a Citi card just convert your credit card to a virtual card, it expires after 30 days, so you are protected from the auto renewals. Not sure if Chase has anything like this or not.
I’ve never shopped from UA’s or AA’s shopping portal. I can use any credit card?
Thanks for the united shopping/best buy shopping bonus info. I used my American Express to purchase a new mac book pro.i had synced my amex and decided to use it for the extended warranty instead of using my Chase freedom. I know, I could have gotten the extra points. I think I just have time to max out that bonus this quartet
Do I get Kohl’s $15 “cash” for $50 spend if I use an online coupon?
@Dave, yes!
