This self-professed Hyatt junkie can never let a (more or less monthly) Hyatt 48 Hour sale go by without at least price checking a few stays to see if the savings is worth locking in a non-refundable reservation. Sometimes it is, especially when it is a trip that I am 99.99% sure will happen in the near future.  In fact, this type of sale is how I locked in such a good rate at the Hyatt Olive 8 recently.

Other than the non-refundable piece, the biggest downside of this type of sale is that there often isn’t a comprehensive listing of participating properties.  That means you have to manually check each property you are interested in just to see if they are participating in the sale.  However, Hyatt has sent me a list of the participating properties so you can skip that step.  They do want to point out the list may not be 100% exhaustive, but it is probably pretty close.

The sale runs through tomorrow (1/16) at 11:59PM Central and is valid for stays between 01/30/2013 and 04/30/2013 at participating Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Park Hyatt and Andaz properties in the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.  Make sure to use code C48JAN in the “special offer code” box when searching for availability.

  1. Boo not too many properties it seems.

Heather, the list seemed a bit short to me as well. At least this way you don’t have to waste time trying non-participating properties.

  3. G says:

I can’t get the sale to work at the Reston Hyatt.

  4. russell says:

Hmm. Just looked up Santa Barbara in April and the discount is less than 15% off the rack rate, so not much of a deal. But thanks for the FYI!

  5. Kevin says:

Thanks. I didn’t see any limitations in the T&Cs, but wanted to confirm that these bookings will earn Gold Passport points.

@MP – Really enjoyed the hyatt woodlands… the outdoor pool *right* next to the patio bar might be a too bit scandalous for houston, but worth a try next time you and mr. MP decide a date night. (formerly an Andaz) breakfast is way cheap… although free for diamonds, from what ive read. =) free parking to boot (self parking of course).

G, sometimes the properties don’t have it available every date…not sure if that is the problem with that one, but it might be.
Russell, sometimes they are decent discounts and sometimes not. Sorry it didn’t work out this time!
    Kevin, yes they do.
Tri, we have stayed there a few times (and shame on me for not ever finishing the full review), but I do very much like it. It was an Avia that Hyatt bought. It is very nice, but you are right I have felt funny swimming next to folks eating. Ha!

  8. Archon1995 says:

Dang. I will be attending a convention at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee this weekend, and the rate isn’t available. Guess I’ll keep my reservation at the Aloft up the street (and position myself for an extra 2k SPG points down the line). Would be nice to be in the convention hotel, though.

  9. Archon1995 says:

Oops, didn’t see the dates available at first…

  10. Pedro says:

Hello – Does using Hyatt Stay Certificate earns points and a credit stay/night? Thanks!

  11. Jamie says:

Ok, I can see an addiction brewing… I read this and thought, hmmm maybe we should book a night at lisle/Naperville and see what it’s like. I know I missed it this time, but ~$75 for a night at a nice hotel for no reason whatsoever doesn’t sound too bad. :-)

  12. mommypoints says:

Jamie, hee hee. And then you do that a few times a year and then you start getting close to elite status and then, well, it just gets worse. Er, better. ;)
