Update:  It looks like a fare of around $350 round trip is also available from Austin to Anchorage on United with wide availability this summer.  Texas folks, escape the August heat and head North!!  Thanks to ella on Milepoint for sharing this tip!

If you live in the NYC area (or just want to fly out of there), there is a great United fare to Anchorage, Alaska in September and October this year.  There are some options for as low as $358 round trip all-in.  Amazing fare if you want to go to Alaska, or even a great mileage run fare if you just need the miles. I would not hesitate on this one if you are interested – doubt it will be around long.  Remember there is a 24 hour penalty free cancellation period, so no harm in locking something in now and then thinking on it over the rest of the day.

You can use ITA Matrix to search, or just use “my dates are flexible” on United.com and look in the late September and early October time frame.

If it was from Houston I would be most tempted to bite myself!  Great destination and great fare – thank to The Flight Deal for tweeting their find.

This is a great deal and I wish I were in the area to take advantage of it, but it has been around for over a week (a least ex-LGA), so I wouldn’t be too sure that it will be gone within hours.

Looks like UA et al. are matching a JetBlue fare… hopefully the match spreads, because I’m seeing similar fares from JetBlue from other cities as well.

Kris, good to know. I just saw it today but I’ve been offline much of the last week traveling so makes sense I’ve missed it. Still don’t recommend folks waiting if it works for you…such a crummy feeling when the fare disappears before you pull the trigger.

    Delta matching

Caught this on The Flight Deal this morning and booked DW and I on UA ex-LGA via Orbitz for a week vaca in early Sept. Our dates required a slightly higher fare of $420, but still good deal. DL flights still avail at $358, but as UA Plat getting E+ exit rows and hopefully some CPUs with UA.
FYI united.com had my exact flights at $500ish so make sure you shop around to snag your desired flights for lowest price.

who wanna meet up in Anchorage from Austin lol?

Duc, it is taking all of my restraint to not book AUS-ANC (but my schedule is already borderline not very family friendly, so trying to keep it from getting worse). Otherwise, I would have booked at least one myself!

Mommy points, This ticket is N class
    http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-mileageplus-consolidated/1270547-decoding-alphabet-soup-new-fare-buckets-ua.html

    What does it mean?
N – This will be unused (possibly for industry discount tix)

Does it mean I won’t earn any miles from United. I am thinking of crediting it to Aegean airline for *A gold

  9. mommypoints says:

Duc, N class earns 100% PQM and EQM – here is a FT discussion on it http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/united-mileageplus-consolidated/1379487-new-ua-revenue-fare-bucket-n-class-update-earns-100-pqms-rdms.html Good to be careful though!

    Thanks for the link
I will give United a call to make sure
